FASTRAK LATE MODEL SERIES SET TO VISIT ELDORA AUGUST 9th
CARNESVILLE, GA (Aug-1) The next stop on the FASTRAK Modern Chevrolet Southeastern Tour is a national points event where FASTRAK Late Model Series drivers throughout the nation will come together at the storied Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, OH for the “GM Performance Parts 40”
To many who will compete in this event, Eldora is viewed as hallowed ground. So many racing careers have been launched from the famed ½ mile oval. In the early 60’s, drivers named McCluskey, Rutherford, Andretti and Bettenhausen started careers that took each of them to the pinnacle in motor sports, Indianapolis.
The “Big E” still seems to be a prerequisite for drivers who aspire to reach motor sports highest levels. Posting an Eldora win on one’s resume has certainly helped the careers of some of today’s elite drivers. Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordan, Kasey Kahne, and Ken Schrader have all posted Eldora wins.
Perennial Late Model drivers Billy Moyer, Freddy Smith, and Jack Boggs have all notched wins here certainly catapulting each of them into the position whereby each could earn a living racing all across America’s on the short tracks. The Kinser name of course, is synonymous with Eldora
Will Eldora play host to launching the career of yet another superstar on August 9th?
The “GM Performance Parts 40” promises to be perhaps one of the biggest events of the entire FASTRAK Late Model Series schedule.
In addition to the historical significance, this is an event where the winner will collect $5000.00. Also at stake are points every FASTRAK driver will earn towards various regional championships in all four corners of the nation. Fastrak drivers will also earn points towards crowning the FASTRAK City Chevrolet Weekly Racing Division Champion.
One thought looming in the minds of many of the FASTRAK drivers who’ll be competing at Eldora, is the opportunity the “GM Performance Parts 40” will serve to compete against drivers from across the nation planning to compete in the FASTRAK $250,000 GRAND NATIONALS in October.
In addition to the $5000 first place winners check, many companies within the racing community are partnering with FASTRAK in the form of special awards for this event:

HARD CHARGER AWARD: $300 nose piece from Dominator Race Products
HARD LUCK AWARD: $250 certificate from Randy LaJoies: The Joie of Seating

On Saturday from 11:00 – 1:00 FASTRAK Series Late Models will be on display at the WAL-MART in Greenville, OH. Drivers will be present to meet fans, sign autographs and be photographed with fans. This is a great opportunity to get close to the drivers, see FASTRAK Late Models up close, and more importantly, benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.
