WAYS TO GET QUALIFIED FOR THE ‘COUNTDOWN TO THE CUP

Have perfect attendance throughout the regular season.

Drivers may not miss more than two events in the regular season . (Drivers must be registered and participate in that night’s races to be eligible)

ONCE THE ‘CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES’ BEGINS

All drivers point totals will be re-set to 3,000 points

For each event missed in the regular season (no more than 2) a -25 point deduction will be taken from your 3,000. Example; if a driver does not attend one race he/she will start at 2,975 if he/she misses two he/she will start at 2,950

At the conclusion of the regular season the top five in points will receive bonus points for their efforts. The driver finishing 1st in points will receive a 40 point bonus; 2nd 25 points 3rd gets 10 poionts 4th and 5th 5 points. Example; if a driver wins the regular season title with perfect attendance and chooses not to attend a bonus point race he/she will start at 3,040 points.

Each race win in the regular season will be a 10 point bonus toward your championship total. Example; if a driver wins two races he/she will receive a 20 point bonus.

Bonus points can be earned by attending the two ‘Bonus Point Races’ in 2008. Each race will carry a 20 point bonus. The first event will be the ‘Skyler Trull Memorial’ at Cleveland County Speedway on May 3rd. The second event will be the ‘ USA 100’ at Virginia Motor Speedway on August 9th. Both of these events will be ‘open tire’ races. A flat 20 point bonus will go to any driver attending these races. The bonus point will be added on at the beginning of the ‘Countdown’. Example: If a driver has perfect attendance in the regular season and attends both bonus point race he/she will begin the ‘Countdown’ with 3040 points.

Races held during the ‘Championship Series’ will run on the same points system as the regular season.

No driver that does not qualify for the ‘Championship Series’ is eligible for the series championship. Drivers inside the ‘Championship Series’ can finish no lower in the final seed in the ‘Championship Series’. Example; if there are five (5) drivers that qualify for the ‘Championship Series’ any and all drivers in the ‘Championship Series’ will automatically finish ahead of drivers that did not qualify for the ‘Championship Series’.

DRIVERS THAT DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THE ‘CHAMPINONSHIP SERIES

Can still attend all races in the ‘Championship Series’ but can not advance their points position into the ‘Championship Series’.

This is Clash information right? Other than the Clash running at FMS a handful of times, I'm not sure why this would be posted in the FMS forum. Just curious...

I put it there for a reason.......... With in the thread they where posting about the clash and how many races could be missed and who was in the best position to miss a race and still be able to race in the clash. They were posting about VMS and the crazy 8's and the points at FMS. Was trying help them out so didn't have to jump all over the site. Its called customer service............................:05Cool:

In any case, the title is misleading. This information has nothing to do with points at FMS.

I should have known who it would be to make me take up for Bill. You better right it down cause it wont happen for another year or so. Newbie relax man. Why so worried about who says what on the Internet or which forum or can we please have a system to make me not have at look at all the thread titles in each forum, instead of just marking them myself as read. Gheez lighten up dude. Its dirt racing and a message board.

As far as this topic I was on line when Bill posted all these points I know why he did it. His explanation is dead on. To me this deal with the bonus and points and double events on the same day is very interesting. So what if the title is a little miss leading. Seems to me the bonus situation is even more misleading.

John, I'll give you something of which you seem to be in short supply... a clue. I have no worries in the world about who says what in a forum unless it's specifically directed at me. Can you see the irony here with what you are saying? I doubt it.

I'm embarrassed that I'm even responding to you, but since you've made it such a big part of your day, I don't want to disappoint. Quite frankly, when I saw the title of the thread and then read the content, it didn't make sense to me. That's the only point that I was trying to make and I did so respectfully. What you read into it is your own problem.

i agree rb.... i was reading this, trying to figure out why i havent heard about FMS doing the chase thing and why in the world cleveland and VMS had anything to do with it.....

I had to read it several times to understand it. I finally got it. Good info and insight after I realized this was for the SLM crowd.

It will be interesting to see how this all shakes out....... :cool_shades:
