WAYS TO GET QUALIFIED FOR THE ‘COUNTDOWN TO THE CUP
Have perfect attendance throughout the regular season.
Drivers may not miss more than two events in the regular season . (Drivers must be registered and participate in that night’s races to be eligible)
ONCE THE ‘CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES’ BEGINS
All drivers point totals will be re-set to 3,000 points
For each event missed in the regular season (no more than 2) a -25 point deduction will be taken from your 3,000. Example; if a driver does not attend one race he/she will start at 2,975 if he/she misses two he/she will start at 2,950
At the conclusion of the regular season the top five in points will receive bonus points for their efforts. The driver finishing 1st in points will receive a 40 point bonus; 2nd 25 points 3rd gets 10 poionts 4th and 5th 5 points. Example; if a driver wins the regular season title with perfect attendance and chooses not to attend a bonus point race he/she will start at 3,040 points.
Each race win in the regular season will be a 10 point bonus toward your championship total. Example; if a driver wins two races he/she will receive a 20 point bonus.
Bonus points can be earned by attending the two ‘Bonus Point Races’ in 2008. Each race will carry a 20 point bonus. The first event will be the ‘Skyler Trull Memorial’ at Cleveland County Speedway on May 3rd. The second event will be the ‘ USA 100’ at Virginia Motor Speedway on August 9th. Both of these events will be ‘open tire’ races. A flat 20 point bonus will go to any driver attending these races. The bonus point will be added on at the beginning of the ‘Countdown’. Example: If a driver has perfect attendance in the regular season and attends both bonus point race he/she will begin the ‘Countdown’ with 3040 points.
Races held during the ‘Championship Series’ will run on the same points system as the regular season.
No driver that does not qualify for the ‘Championship Series’ is eligible for the series championship. Drivers inside the ‘Championship Series’ can finish no lower in the final seed in the ‘Championship Series’. Example; if there are five (5) drivers that qualify for the ‘Championship Series’ any and all drivers in the ‘Championship Series’ will automatically finish ahead of drivers that did not qualify for the ‘Championship Series’.

Can still attend all races in the ‘Championship Series’ but can not advance their points position into the ‘Championship Series’.
