If you've been looking for a good book to read about southern racing roots you should read the book "Driving with the Devil" about the years before NASCAR and the France enterprise. This book will take you way back to the days of shine runners like Roy Hall and Lloyd Seay, two of the best darn race car drivers that stock car racing ever knew.

Capefear, you got that right! It's one of the most in-depth historical accounts I've ever read.

I read it last year. Excellent book. Great photos too. Highly recommended.

Funny though... I was looking through some pics that I needed to put together and when I saw that one, I remembered this thread. :smile: I'll have to get that one printed large to remind him how young he was when he became a race fan. :lol:

Nothing like raising the younguns on books about Moonshiners and outlaws instead of barney and big bird. LOL!
