FASTRAK: Is Colt Smith the "sleeper" in chase for SE Crown
Carnesville, Ga (July-21) When looking at the FASTRAK Modern Chevrolet Southeast Touring Series point standings released earlier today, one name that jumps off the page, is that of 22 year old, Woodruff, SC native: Colt Smith
The most recent points standings show Smith in the tenth position; quite an accomplishment when considering the names at the top of the point standings like Cooper, Llewellyn, and Parker. In Smith's most recent outing July 19 at I-77 Speedway in Chester, SC, Smith was the victim of overheating which resulted in his night ending much earlier than he would of liked.
When taking into consideration Smith did not compete in the FASTRAK Modern Chevrolet Southeast Touring Series event May 3 at Toccoa Speedway, one can only wonder as to how high in the points standings he could be today. At the very least, Smith would be knocking on the door of the top Five.
It will be interesting to follow Smith as he continues to rise to the occasion.
