What happened to everyone post counts under thier name. I kind of like seeing who has how many and see how many I have. I know i was over 2000 at one time.

Hopefully, Dwayne will keep that disabled. It has no relevance to the purpose of the site, which is discussing racing.

RR is a asphalt site now, so it doesn't count...lol Post count has always been abused and the leading cause in most of the arguments on this site...

Peoples post counts are still on their profile. Just click a persons name and look to the right side of the page.

Well, I could care less for any of that type of stuff. "Reputation", post counts, top posts per month, etc. are completely useless IMO. But hey, if that's your thing, go for it.

Thats not a true statement. Abuse of power has lead to the most arguments on this site.

As in many post in the past, many, many times it has been posted "I will be the top poster next month" or as also stated " I have this many post but before a certain time, "I'll have this many". Who cares how many post a member has. Post counts leads to one thing at some time or the other, "POST PADDING". This site was started according to RJ, as an "RACE RELATED BOARD" and not a chat site. Meaning race results, or track schedule updates, series results, driver information, and fans and families of racing, also race track results and news about the racing world.Whether it be local dirt racing, or NASCAR or different series racing. The most informative site that alot of people use don't have these 3 and 4 word responses and they go on forever and forever.
Post count to me, are a nonessential issue for the betterment of a board and its members and guest........................

Who cares how many posts you have? I admit it was fun to check in on the final monthly tally and see where you can in at, but it didn't make the site more effective.

I actually thought the top poster of the month would give members an incentive to add, unique content or help add more news to the site. Not just BS posts, don't get me wrong here, I like to BS just as much as the next guy and don't see anything wrong with having a BS thread here and there, but to just post meaningless BS 2 and 3 worded posts and replies to up your post count is just plain ridiculous. This was getting to be a problem not just in the BS threads but on threads that were actually informative or that other people were trying to carry on a meaningful conversation. I have said it over and over that it is really frustrating reading a thread and have to go through 2-3 pages or more of nothing but BS to get to the next post that actually pertained to the thread topic. Just simply amazes me how difficult this seems to be for some people. I'll admit it myself it's not hard to get off a thread topic but at least try to stay within the subject as much as possible. You will notice there are several threads that go on and off topic here that don't get edited, but when it gets over a page or two, if I myself sees it I will move it out.

This is not the only message board I have operated and I try to incorporate other things that have been successful in the past here but sometimes things don't go as you plan so we make adjustments.

I had rather have 100 members contributing to the community with topic related content and good discussions that I had 1,000 just here to BS. A sites content is it's life if you have good content that people are interested in they keep coming back for more, sooner or later they get tired of the BS. You can get that just about anywhere. Besides Google likes good content over BS any day and if you want to keep getting the hits you gotta make Google happy.

See what happens when you search for local racing (http://www.google.com/search?q=local+racing&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a) on Google? :flip3:

Tad da! It's Local Race Chat. Also, if you ever search for some local dirt driver's name, say for instance Britches Liles, Ronnie Boykin, etc., guess where it takes you most of the time? Yep, you guess it LRC. Good point there Dwayne.

I agree Jerry.... I think R.J. needs to disable alot of stuff on this website LOL..... JMO....... I love this website and all that him and his helper's have done. Why add stress to his life? I am still having chat parties although half the people that usually come have went elsewhere. Oh well... looks like I will be partying by myself!! LMAO...

True but your missing the point (no surprise there). If someone in lets say for example in Virginia is looking for info on Local Racing they are most likely going to try it before they would Racing,:smelli21:

Google sent in July

Search sent 16,475 total visits via 6,889 keywords

Just a few keywords for ya.
"russell boyd" sent 109 total visit
"chrischeekracing.com" sent 226 total visit
"david taylor pictures" sent 222 total visit
"racesaver 305 sprint" sent 71 total visit
"world of outlaws 2008 schedule" sent 26 total visit

and many more. I used Local Racing as an example, of course you will get top results using your site name in the search it's all the content that triggers the little guys that add up. Maybe this (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=5mz&pwst=1&q=bull+****&start=0&sa=N) is more along the lines what you are looking for.
