I'm about sick of development, no matter what the developers tells how it's good for the economy, bla, bla, it only makes an overcrowded city like Fayetteville even more crowded. It's only good for the developers and city taxes collectors.
Gosh I hope that is only a rumor.

I don't think they would be trying to fix the track surface like they have been doing if this was the last year. I thought they had a 10 year lease and have 7 or 8 more years to go before it runs out.

the lease can be broke, someone with enough money can buy the lease out.... so guess time will tell

Key phrase > "one of the security dudes told me"

That security dude was probably upset he couldn't get a free drink and hotdog while performing his dangerous duties of pit gate keeper or either they refused to issue him a mag-lite and he went rebellious on them and started spreading these rumors.

I want to clarify I was just picking. I'm sure this security guard was going on info he over heard, just like the rest of us usually do. Just don't want people thinking I'm bashing the security guard. He's just doing his job.

Last night at hammerdown I also over heard someone saying FMS was closing. Unless Ed or Larry say it, i don't believe it. They've been trying to fix the track this year, why go through the money and trouble if it'll be a lake next time this year?

If housing economy the way it is, I myself don't see anyone doing much developing for while.

New homes up here are almost a dime a dozen and I'm sure that is country wide.

It takes money to make money, meaning if you build them don't necessarily mean they will buy them. right now anyway................

I would say FMS is pretty safe for awile

HAHA if you can stand in one spot the entire night then well we all should just be getting paid $25 an hour.

One thing to think about.......Fort Bragg and the Fayetteville area is expecting an estimated 10,000 soldiers to be relocated to the area with their families. Developers will attempt to make some $ here. I know for a fact that area businesses are already planning for the increase and how to deal with it.......JMO

Between 2008 and 2013 there is supposed to be an increase of 40,000 personnel moving to the Ft. Bragg area do to the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC). FACT

The one thing about the ARMY is that they give you a housing allowance on top of what you get paid. A SSG E-6 receives $1200 a month for housing in the Ft. Bragg area. That can buy alot of houses. Get in the real estate business now you could stand to make alot of money in the near future. While the rest of the country is going to suffer, this area is going to grow.
