As a result of the recent rain outs, the schedule has been changed:

7/25/08 $1500.00 to win Open wheel modified special event

8/01/08 $1000.00 to win "Pop Smith Memorial" Super Stock event

Hi Everyone. Does Dublin Motor Speedway have methanol available at the track? If so what is the going price for a gallon nowadays?....thanks

yes they do and i believe it is $8 a gallon(don't quote me on that)

i dont think methanol has reached 8 bucks yet... thats the price for the 113....

last i heard methanol was about 3.50 a gallon, but as i understand it, you burn twice as much during a race... im sure others know more about it than i do, ive never ran methanol.

Patrick, you're right about methanol. It burns cooler than gasoline, but it takes twice as much to produce the same energy as a given amount of gasoline. It's a chemical thing, not related in anyway to the engine, carb, fuel pump, or any mechanical apparatus.

Pluse, methanol burns with a clear flame and is EXTREMELY toxic. It is the denaturing additive to 'rubbing' alcohol (ethanol which is also the same thing people DRINK....aka white lightnin', moonshine, hootch)........if it weren't denatured, folks would drink rubbing alcohol.......and some have! But it's a risk.

methanol is about half the price of 110-113 gas...so its around $4-$5

So really no savings then if you have to burn twice as much.

I guess it's a pick your poison deal.
