OK, so at the beginning of the year, I decided that I was going to head to Florence for the North/South 100, my first trip to the track. Made arrangments to stay at my sister in-laws house, and even my wife and kids were going to make the trip to Lexington with my for the weekend.

Right after that, I found out that the USA 100 at VMS was going to be a MACS/Clash combined event, and topless. And even worse, Black Sabbath (with Dio) was going to be playing in DC that Thursday night.

But I was committed. Hadn't bought tickets yet, but my mind was made up.

Then gas prices rose and rose and rose, and pretty much killed my trip to Kentucky.

But now, not only do I get to see the USA 100, I also got my tickets for the Judas Priest/Black Sabbath/Motorhead show in DC for the 7th of August.

There's always a silver lining...
:Kool: (that'll be me on August 7th..)

The MACS/Clash combo should be interesting and fun. I'm hoping to get up there for my first visit to VMS.

Dio. I saw his "solo" act in DC a million years ago it seems- it was at least 20 years ago. Damn, 20 years... is that right? You're bringing back some good memories.

Hope you can make it, it's a great track and facility. Apparently they've changed it up a bit, amking the "topless" part optional, but adding an extra $200 to the winner if his car has no roof. And I've never seen a toples race befoe (other than wingless sprints), so I'm looking forward to it.

Yeah, 20 years! He's still beendoing a lot of stiff over those years, including getting back with Sabbath last year for the new tour.

Heck, I still remember seeing Sabbath for the first time with Dio when Heaven and Hell came out in 80. Oakland Ca, "Day on the Green." Can't remember who else played, but I distinctly remember Sabbath, then Molly Hatchet, with hometown boys Journey closing out the show. $20 if I remeber right....ah, those were the days.
