ok, The U-Car class has gotten a lil out of hand.
How can 1 car, start in the rear of the field, being a supposbly stock car, and pass about 15 cars before the 6th lap? That's a lil wierd there. I know, my dual over head cam car, doens't even come close to doing that. at the most, i pass about 4- 5 cars. & im going full throtle. Twisting the motor in 3rd gear. is crazy.

I am 14 years old, and i'd rather race in u-cars. because it is a better, & funner class.

Plus, i do have a issue, with the rough driving & taking people out in the corners? Whats up with that.. I mean, dang it's a race, if you cant pass the person , then dont!!!! All im sayin is it is getting old

:Sneak:Are the Super Street cars allowed in the U-Car class? The #43 ran both classes Saturday night, last in Super Street and 1st in U-Car. It seems there was a disadvantage there, I don't know the rules but I ain't the only one questioned that.

They should make the rules.
No Open Wheel Driver, Any Late Model Drivers, & Super Street Drivers.
Big Disadvantage

He passes all those cars because his car is faster and he drives it better. He has a more powerful legal engine than all the other legal engines. The class allows a huge range of cars and a huge range of legal engines. A 4 cylinder 2 liter Probe and a 6 cylinder 3.8 liter Supercharge Grand Prix GTP are equally legal, even though thier performance isn't even close to comparable.

DOHC means nothing by itself. The supercharged GM V6s are producing more than 250 HP. Of course, the winner of the most recent UCar race was a little Honda.

The Ucar race is among the most entertaining of the evening. Flag to Flag action without nonsense cautions. The cars are very competative, with lots of clean passing and hard battles for position. Not much in the way of dirty driving going on there.

I feel the same way. Since the U-Cars have a entry fee, then they should recieve their entry fee back if they finish towards the back. Along with the Young Guns, you pay the top 3, with no entry fee. You should have like a 20 or 25 entry fee, so the other ones have a chance to recieve some motor. Cars need gas to run & that takes money

Young Guns do not get paid by FMS - usually someone donates $50 for the YG winner, but that is not paid by FMS. FMS only gives the top two of the YG race a trophy.

The track already pays out more for UCars than they typically get in entry fees. The total purse is about $500. At $25 a car, they'd have to get 20 cars just to break even - we've never come close to that. Last year (first year for the class), the track paid the top five, and didn't charge an entry fee.

100% payout is reasonable. The track is operated for profit. No profit, no track.

UCar is a hobby class. As with all hobbies, it is reasonable to expect that the participants pay their own way. The cost of gas and associated equipment is rightfully the responsibility of the participants.

Not at all. If the total purse is $500 at $25 a car entering then you need 20 cars. No way do all the people that drive U-Cars come into the pits alone when they race. Plus, not to mention if their families come into the stands that is money the track would of not gotten had their family member been running there 9 outta 10 times... Purely Street Car classes (U-Cars, Mudslingers, Pure Stock, etc.) running on street tires normally bring in Massive amounts of cars because they are affordable.

Friendship winner was getting $100 then $75, $50, $25, $20-10 down. With many nights having a $15 entry fee in the pits and almost all of the Mudslingers bringing 2+ people in the pits, 25+ cars makes the track money period. It is easily the best total class gate money:payout ratio in racing these days.

That's exactly what I said.

That's irrelevent, unless you are arguing that they only watch the UCar race and ignore the rest of the program.

Plus, not to mention if their families come into the stands that is money the track would of not gotten had their family member been running there 9 outta 10 times...

Simply untrue. My family usually has between 15-20 people at the track - exactly the same people that were at the track long before we started playing around in UCars.

Purely Street Car classes (U-Cars, Mudslingers, Pure Stock, etc.) running on street tires normally bring in Massive amounts of cars because they are affordable.

No, they don't bring in massive amounts of cars. The UCar class at FMS has never had 20 cars in a race. Never. Not once.

The Enduro class has - although not in a couple of years.

Not at Fayetteville, it isn't, and on the FMS board, arguing about whether or not FMS "should" pay out more than they take in entry fees, Friendship doesn't matter.

The business of FMS is to make a profit. If they can best increase their profit by subsidizing a class of racing until it develops a sizable field of cars, then FMS should do so. Otherwise, FMS should not. That is how successful business works.

Again it is called DONATION! Any money you receive in the YG class at FMS is a donation by someone - a business, a parent, a uncle, etc. FMS does not pay any money in the YG class - they only give a trophy to 1st & 2nd place. Unfortunely, in the Ucar race FMS only pays the top five finishers.

You should be thankful that you're getting to race, any return you might gain is a bonus. Also I would not speak too loud about running both classes, it will probably not happen again in the future. You will probably not be allowed back in the young guns class after running in the U-car class.
