i would like to know and i am sure some others would like to know also why the winner of the Ucar race #40 was alowed to race not only with no racin jacket or long sleeve shirt on and on top of that awarded the win wearing only a short sleeve shirt? the rules simply state...16. All drivers must wear an approved helmet, long sleeve shirt, and long pants. On top of that it was cleary visible from the stands bc that is where i was and i saw it along with others and this is one of the track owners sons. so shouldnt all rules apply to everyone on the track and not let certain cars/drivers get away with this stuff? JMO what do yall think?

what rule is that.............
anybody that drives does that (at there own risk)

BUT THAT IS NOTHING BUT A ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN..............

#1 I have never seen a fire pick and choose who it is going to burn................
#2 Every class on the track has a potential for a fire, reguardless, they all have a gas tank...........
#3 REGARDLESS WHAT CLASS IT IS, IT SHOULD BE MANDATORY THAT EVERYONE HAVE A FIRE PROOF DRIVERS SUIT...........

BUT AFTER ALL BEING SAID, YOU THINK THE DRIVER WOULD WEAR ONE FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY..............

Would That Excuse Float For Anybody Or Just The Owners Son?

No, I do not think that would fly with the owner (s).

BUT I think the owners may be tied up with too much goings on behind the scene and niether are watching or paying close attention to the racing and racing procedures.

Most of the time when you ask either of them (owners) about something like this happening during the actual racing event, they do not know what you're talking about. I think they have some good people around doing their respective jobs but someone has to be the supervisor. I know I would be if I had a big stake in the overall outcome of the track itself. JMO

Eddie provided a perfectly reasonable answer. It happens, and I've done it myself. I suspect that some of you are attempting to hold him to a higher standard than you would any other racer, simply because his family is involved in running the track. Demanding perfection from him, while accepting less from the rest of us is neither fair nor realistic. The truth is that the track management provides a set of rules, and expects a great deal of self-policing from the drivers/teams. The further down the totem pole from SLMs the classes get, the more true that becomes. While I believe we offer some compeling entertainment, the UCar class is designed to provide a relatively inexpensive introduction to dirt track racing. It's a hobby, and it isn't worth any angst.

Complaints of favoritism are ill-founded, in this case. If he had finished last, or if he had won and wasn't named Longhany, he could have climbed out of the car naked wearing a racoon hat, and not generated a single post.

Doesn't the 'naked with a racoon hat' rule apply to the "run what ya' brung" division?

If you are talking about a U-Car driver in the young guns race,
Then yes, that was me (Stephanie Clew). I am 14 years old,
and i am & was allowed to race that class. There is nothing in the
rules that says i can't. && where did i finish in that race. from 10th to 5th.

Plus about the saftey issue, My dad wont even let me race or even on the track, with out a full suit, boots, helmet, neck brace & gloves. He wants everything in my car to be safe including me.
