The fireworks began early!!! Once again Hagerstown Speedway was in the line of showers that approached from the southwest Saturday night and arrived with high winds and lightning just as the first qualifying heat for the Cindy Rowe Auto Glass late models had been completed for the 43rd Annual Johnny Roberts Memorial.

With more showers lining up to the west to arrive later, speedway management opted to use the scheduled Sunday rain date.

The Roberts Memorial will be attempted again on Sunday with the Ernie's Auto Enterprises pure stocks only along with the scheduled gigantic fireworks display The Hoosier Tire Mid Atlantic late model sportsman were not included on the rain date program as originally scheduled.

Rain checks will be honored for 18 months.

Pit gates and grandstands will both open at 4 p.m. with warm-ups beginning at 6 p.m.
