Prayer Request For My Friend's Family and Friends

[My Name Is Carol]

A very close friend of mine was killed today and I literally just found out. He was only 27 years old and getting ready to be a daddy in the next few months. This kid meant a lot to me and my husband, as we have both known him since he was a teenager working at Hardee's in Bailey. I loved him, I still love him. I always will. I saw him a few weeks ago and all he could say was he needed to come by more often and see us because he loved us and missed us. He was excited about becoming a first time father and getting married in the next few months. I saw him on Monday, grinning and smiling, telling me he loved me and blowing me kisses. He was a great person, loved by many. Please, say a prayer for his family, friends, future child and me & Randall. I've lost so many friends the last few years, and it doesn't get any easier. I can only hope and pray he is walking hand in hand with God and smiling down on me and the rest of us that miss him already.

Bailey man killed in weekend fatal accident

A 27-year-old Bailey man was killed in a single-vehicle accident during the weekend in Nash County.


Jonathan Daniel Moore of 6618 West Pine St. in Bailey died at about 5 p.m. Saturday, after his vehicle struck a guard rail on Rural Paved Road 1965 and he was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the N.C. Highway Patrol.


Moore was traveling north on RP 1965, about two miles north of Bailey, when his 1996 Nissan crossed the center line and skidded sideways for 205 feet before colliding with a guardrail on the left side of the road, highway patrol reports show.


Moore's vehicle then spun around ejecting him before crossing the road again and slammed into the opposite guardrail.


A passenger in Moore's vehicle, Francisco Raya, 41, of 1364 Rock Quarry Road in Sims, suffered minor lacerations to his face and right arm. He was treated at Wilson Memorial Hospital, reports show.


A spokesman for the highway patrol said alcohol use was suspected as playing a role in the accident. However, that would not be determined until the results of the autopsy were complete, he said.


A funeral will be held for Moore Tuesday at Wilson Memorial Service.
