The #69 Super Stock team would like to apologize to the Friendship Speedway owners, track officials and especially the Tech man for arguing about the rules. We respect that you have established rules and that you enforce them. More tracks should do that, and we shouldn’t let our emotions over-rule good sense.

We knew when we came that we might be outside the letter of the rules, but we hoped that we could run as a practice session without counting towards the points and without earning any purse. But since that was not possible, we should have just honored your ruling and packed up. We didn’t mean any disrespect. We were frustrated about towing all of the way to Elkin only to be told that we couldn’t run.

I don’t know if we’ll have the money to change our car to conform to your rules, but be assured that next time we come we will be fully legal.

Once again, we’re sorry to cause a fuss. Good wishes for your business.
