There's a little more to the situation than simply "rain in Bladen couty............" I watched WECT's doppler radar for over two hours yesterday. For most of the early afternoon the counties of Horry (SC) Columbus, Brunswick, Robeson, Harnett, Scotland, and Richmond were completely socked in. There were also spot cells in Dillon, and Florence counites in South Carolina, and Cartert and Craven in North Carolina. For some time, Bladen was the only county not registering any doppler activity. But, what I wanted know: what direction was the Robeson/Scotland/Richmond cell moving? This cell slowly moved eastward (into Bladen) and nothward (Cumberland). Also, as the afternoon progressed, this same map become littered with white lightening bolt icons around most of the area, and one BIG yellow lightnening bolt over Bladen county, indicating a forecast of severe thunderstorm activity or its liklehood.

With gas prices beign what they are, and rain surrounding the track, and a forecast of severe thunderstorms for the track's location, what's the correct answer? I wanted to race, as much as anybody, and was about 15 minutes away from being ready to go. There will be another Friday night, it's already on the way.
