Announced at driver's meeting last night, no supers on July 3rd. The weather last weekend jumbled everything up, steel heads this coming week. And also no more off weeks for 4 cyl or street stock, they will race every race for the rest of the year.

Steel heads are now cancelled. Word is no super or steel head events until the surface is fixed, the management is just as upset with track conditions as the driver's were, and they want it right, and I'm glad they're taking that approach, they will get it fixed.

Why would'nt they be able to fix it??Can I get in on this bet?? The track will never be fixable til they rip the asphalt up under the dirt. I mean come on people its common sense. Dirt on the asphalt, if you have took the time to look you can see the water running down the asphalt to pit road. You take just a regular dirt track, dirt on dirt, the dirt will drink water then start coming back to the top. The good tracks like Lowes and Wythe. thats why they have very little dust. This past Sat., my first trip to Friendship was completely awful. If they don't do something I'm afraid to say it one of yall drivers will be hurt at that track! But hey if you want to lose some money I'm willing to bet, LOL.

well wayne cnty is dirt on asphalt and the track ususally held together good got a little dusty at times but it did good i think the asphalt held the water from absorbing all the way in the ground and gave it a place to sit and let the track soak it back up lke a sponge it always had good traction just ask tucker he raced there a bunch and didnt gripe about that all dirt tracks have issues at least freindship is trying to work on them and will get them fixed just dont happen overnight

Cant agree with using Wayne cty doc as an example. All the rest may be true. But Wayne cty went to hell the last couple of years they raced on it. There were spots where there was nothing but asphalt. Its not always a bad thing to have the dirt on top of the asphalt, but you gots to have some mighty deep clay, which takes mighty deep pockets.

well it was said that they put from 16inches at bottom to 4 ft at top so they should have enuf to have a great surface and i raced at wayne cnty in 06 before it closed and the track was in great shape so that is why i used it as an example yes i saw some asphalt but it was at the top of the track where nobody ran on it

well i think that it will take a LONG time to get to the asphault considering they put several feet of dirt on top...... Dang its only been 6 races and pple already bashing and thrashing... lets see some of yall start up a track and run it...

I don't think asphalt is the root of all problems, its been demostraited with almost unlimited funding you can still mess up a good track. Ala Lowes (last fall WWO). After the slap in the face, they brought in experts with sawdust from Canada and they had the best surface I every saw at the World finals. Antidirve, I will amit a rough track race is fun to watch. However its not feesable to run that way. You will quickly run out of racer because the $$$ are not worth the damage to the cars. Same reason new tracks are 4/10th or 3/8th... Racers no longer risk there 50k motor for a 5k purse on a 5/8th track, can ya blame them.
