Well I suggested this last week, so I figured I would go ahead and make a thread about it. After what was another great night of racing from the fans view, track looked smooth, little dust, and good side by side action, the rumors are still going. So I figured why not have everybody just post em on one thread, instead of having threads for each gripe. As just a fan, I know the drivers see a different side of the track, so lets hear the gripes, the rumors, and even, if it exist, the positive side of things, from both sides of the fence, driver and fan.

People complain about Bobby, While I do not agree with everything he does. I do not think he is treated fairly on here most of the time. I have been going to dirt tracks since I was sixteen, and drove super street for a few of those years. Most of that time up north, only been here 4 1/2 years. 311 is among the best tracks I have been too. Go ahead and attack me about how bad 311 is and how good you think some other tracks are, however many on here are not fair and balanced. I have seen 311 bashed for things that is ok or understood for another track to do. Hopefully we do not lose this facility, but if we do, alot of people will have to find something else to complain about.

When I was in the USN there was a saying "That a Bitching Sailor was a HAPPY Sailor" so I guess the people here are just DELIRIOUS.

Only met Bobby once greeting us as we came in the front gate, he was in full stride, stopped came up to the line, thanked us all for coming and sped off radio in ear.

That said, don't really care who runs the place, never have.

What I do care about is the facility, prices and THE RACING.

This year the facitilties are ok, the TRACK on most nights has been good, compared to other NC track (way up there), food and restrooms ok, seating (for those who like to bring camp chairs Great)

The Racing has been Great this year. I've said this before, you can't beat the deal on a twin 25 night. You get almost a full field of crates racing in between two high quality SLM shows and your out by 11pm. I drive 100 miles round trip for that show and never been disapointed.

If this goes away, a stand full fans (almost every twin 25) will sady be missed.

Any new news or rumors about bobbys condition or whether the track will run this week, or if someone else will be taking over?

Sure hope the july 5th race can be run, I've been looking forward to that one all year.

I hope 311 stays open, I think it is currently being operated very well and the races are very good. People should travel to other places and race or watch and see how poorly other tracks are operated and be glad 311 is in business.

Agreed racingfan, I've been saying that for sometime. I think 311 has been on top of its game, especially this year, the tracks been great, especiallly when u consider that there is still no motograder.

1st off, my prayers are for the mans health, then for the people who depend on the track for income - god know how tuff things are. For me, I love turn one, one row below main walkway camper chair (pefect view) and 3 25 lap late mode races almost back to back. And a great crowd that very vocal about there favorites.

Heard this yesterday about the track, so i'm just gonna throw it out here. To be honest though, i think its a hot steaming pile of B.S.

A friend of mine who races at Bowman Gray that his brother is friends with bobby. He claims bobby told him that hes just gonna let the track be repo-ed. But he also told him that he had been contacted by tony stewart, and that tony is interested in buying the track.

Like I said, sounds like more of the brown stuff here than 2 weeks worth of what you could get out of every bull in stokes county.

Didn't last time it come up that 311 was for sale that Stewart and Childress were planning on buying it come up? Wishing the best for 311 b/c it's a great track.

It would be pretty cool to have the likes of Stewart, Schrader, and Kenny Wallce invest in the track, like they did at Macon. Those boys love some dirt trackin'.

Would be great if Stewart would by it and have a race like the prelude or the dream there. I have heard that one of the cup drivers had been interested in it recently but I'll beleive it when I see it. I think with anyone who invests in a dirt track during these economic times has to have deep pockets and able to draw crowds from outside the area. Local weekly racing may have seen its best days already. Just wonder how long it will be before you see the weekly racing program fizzle out?
