stock 4 question

I have a 4-speed transmission in my mini stock. 1st gear is a granny low. Do these ratios sound right? 1st 3.98:1 2nd 2.14:1 3rd 1.49:1 4th 1.00:1 The plate says 82ET SA But I can't find the gear ratios anywhere on the net:thankyou2:

I am not sure on the other gears but the 2.14 second sounds right. There were some in the early pintos and mustang 2s that had a 1.96 second gear. If the shifter has bolts securing it to the tranny it is most likely 2.14. The 1.96 2nd gear trannys had a tabbed ring that locks the shifter into place. Hope this helps.

2.14 is a good 2nd gear but id need to know your rearend gear and know what size track you run to tell if you have your gearing close.

ford transmissions 2nd gear ratios are 2.14, 1.96 , 2.0, and 2.52 but that came out of the turbo cars, where are you planning on running if you need gear help pm me b/c i have ran just about everywhere arround here in the 4cyls

it could be a 1.99 too if yall will get the numbers i have a sheet to go by on all ford trans

I don't think your 3rd gear is right it more like 1.42 the 1.48 is going to be in your your 5 speed t5 trans. I wouldn,t worry about 1st or 4th if u are racing it u shouldn't never run them. Unless u are running 5/8 are bigger.
