The SMART website has been updated with a few "tweaked" rules. The tire rule being one of these. We are hoping these changes will make it easier on everyone and their pockets. Nothing major.
Some unforseen circumstances have prompted these changes and hopefully we have made them for the better and permanent.

We hope this makes it easier for more drivers to join us at County Line on the 14th.
Thank you for all of your support in getting this project up and off the ground!

Here is the Tire Rule Change:

10. Tires:
A. Any Brand permitted.
B. Both rear tires must punch a 48 or harder on the durometer before
qualifying, heats and features. NO EXCEPTIONS.
C. Front tires are open brand and compound.
D. Cross grooving permitted.
E. NO TIRE SOFTENERS. Tires in question will be dismounted and
checked.
F. All cars will compete on the tires they qualify on. After time trials
or heats, the tires will be marked as they come off of the track.
Spare tires must be checked and marked prior to using them.
Officials must be notified of any tire changes prior to the change
as to be accepted or not. Unapproved tire changes will result in
disqualification or starting last on the field.

WOW same tires for heats and features. Are those the normal :rules: everyone else runs by?

FMS used to do it years ago.

Wonder why they stopped?

Jh, it is too hard to soak tires this way. If you run the tires you qualify on and soak them they will be less likely to punch the right numbers before the feature. More work for us, but better for keeping the tires on the same level.

Carolina Clash started that way. We used to have to put a paint mark on the tires when they came off the scale from qualifying. We'd duro them, and hit it with a paint mark.
