Budds Creek MD- Mechanicsville MD Jamie Lathroum scored his first Super Late Model feature win of the 08 season Sunday Night 5/25/08 in the 41 lap Mike Clore Memorial, Courtesy of Carruth & Son Concrete.
Roy Deese Jr and Darryl Hills lead the field to the green with Hills leading the way. Hills and Deese battled furiously for the first twenty five circuits of the event before fourth place starter Andy Anderson entered the picture. As Anderson attempted to pass Deese off of turn two, Anderson spun as Deese slid to a stop. Both drivers were shown to the rear, but not long after Anderson retired his car to the pit area.
The incident proved to be beneficial for Lathroum as he was noe second to leader Hills. Lathroum made the pass and would control the final eleven circuits to score the very popular $2000 to win, his second career Potomac Super Late win.David Williams crossed the line second, Hills third, Keith Jackson fourth and rounding out the top five was Roland Mann. Heats for the 22 car field went to Deese, Lathroum and Jackson.
Chuck Bowie picked up his first win of the season in the 16 lap Coors Light Street Stock main. Bowie took the lead from Jim Gardner on lap six and cruised home to victory. Kurt Zimmerman took second, third Jim Gardner, Frankie Dove fourth and Eric Johnson fifth. Heats went to Zimmerman and Reynolds.Jimmy Jesmer was the Midas Hard Charger.
Scotty Nelson and Wayne Suite picked up wins in The Sunoco Race Fule Hobbystock mains.John Burch was the Midas Hard Charger award winner in the Hobbystock Division.
Greg Gunter claimed his fifth straight Gunters Honey 4 Cylinder main of the 08 racing season.
