Elkin, NC - Friendship Motor Speedway kicked off it's third week of the 2008 racing schedule with some awesome weather and a overwhelming crowd on hand. After five years the Super Late Models would make a huge return to Elkin, North Carolina for one heck of a show with a full twenty-five car field fighting for the winning two thousand dollars, a big ole trophy, and some bragging rights. Friendship Motor Speedway was hard at it again showing that this was the place to be for exciting racing in all divisions. This week also included three of our regular divisions which are the GM Direct Automotive Crate Late Models, Coffee House Four Cylinders, and the Southeastern U-Cars.

In the Super Late Model special event, young gun Chris Meadows would be fast right off the truck as he would set quick time in time trials. Noel Tucker would start from the front row along side Meadows. As the feature would get underway Chris Meadows would have much to prove against these guys who have raced here many times in the past. Gary Mabe would do battle in third as he would go after Noel Tucker to try and take second. Chris Meadows out of Beckley, West Virginia would prove himself as he would lead the entire feature from start to finish to take down his first ever win at Friendship Motor Speedway. Noel Tucker of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina would finish in a respectable second. Third would go to hard charging Gary Mabe of Danbury, North Carolina. Larry Blankenship and Brandon Ifft would round out your top five.

In the GM Direct Automotive Crate Late Model feature event, Noel Tucker returned to show just how it's supposed to be done. Tucker would take a early lead over Jay Sessoms. Keith Holder would not hold back anything as he would make a early run on Sessoms. Holder would get by Sessoms and make his sight set on race leader Noel Tucker. John Eller would have a strong run as he looked to maybe pick up a top three spot on Sessoms. Pilot Mountain's Noel Tucker would take down the checkers for his second win of the 2008 season. Keith Holder would show to be a strong second with Jay Sessoms holding on to third. Fouth would go to John Eller with current points leader and last weeks feature winner Tony Hicks falling back to fifth this week.

In the Coffee House Four Cylinder feature event, Sandy Martin and Tommy Zachary would take the green from row one. It was not to be for Martin as Zachary would get the early lead. Sandy Martin would fall back to second but would eventually have more problems. Robbie Brown made his way up through the field fast as he would look to find Zachary. Tommy Zachary after two weeks of troubles finally gets this car dialed in and would check out by the end of the feature. Zachary out of Yadkinville, North Carolina would win his first feature of the season. Robbie Brown would take the points lead as he would finish a repectable second. Billy Robbins made a run to third with a great run by Scott Adams rounding out the top four.

In the U-Car feature event, this makes two events in a row these ladies and gentlemen have put on a great show for the fans. C.J. Lyons would finally get what he has been trying to get week after week and that would be a win. Josh Wilson would close in late in the race to finish second in the closest finish of the night. Jackie Stone would make the season debut in third. Josh Clonch would finally get to start and finish a race as he has been at the speedway every week but unable to start the feature, he would grab fourth place.

Congrats to this weeks feature winners and thanks to all the dirt racing fans, drivers, and crewmen for your support as we head into the fourth event of the 2008 racing season next week. Next week we will be featuring a regular schedule of events with all four divisions known as the GM Direct Automotive Crate Late Models, Super Streets, Coffee House Four Cylinders, and the Southeastern U-Cars.
