Why do you think that the late model races have been so much better this year? Do you think it is the new clay, more competition, or getting your cars set up better? The 3 late model races that have been run this year have been some of the best late model races I have ever seen at CLR, and with a different winner each race.

I'll agree with that. It's the best late model races I have seen in a long time.

taken from CLR rules page..

Up to 365 C.I.

Any 23 degree steel heads, no porting or polishing. (they have a 50lb weight penaly for port and polish)

so you're right Ronnie, not over 365 and 23 degree steel heads

and the racing was good Saturday night, I enjoyed it.......

there is one car out there that it is just hard to believe that he is right, i've been around racing along time and a steel head dont pull off the corner like that one does but if all the late models drivers are happy about then i guess i am

I Think Next Race Need Too Pull Hoods Off All Cars And Check For Aluminum Motors/heads And Dry Sump, Make Cars Carry Weight Your Suppose To Be Claiming And Pump Top 5 After Race.....theres Not Been Any Motors Teched At All Just Been Going With What Ever Your Claiming.....and If No Tech Official Wants Too Pull The Hoods Off After Qaulifing Ill Do It Cause As Of Right Know With Dads Health We Want Be Racing.(his Blood Pressure Is More Important Than Racing Right Now Until Dr Tell Him Hes Good To Go) Jimmy Batten But Im Not Going To Pump Any Motor Because Im A Dumb Dumb When Its Comes Too That Lol

i think they should do like wayne county use to do, check something on the top 5 every week, after the race! and dont tell neone what they gonna check. i think that should be at any track in the latemodels.

I'm all for checking the top 5! In all classes. Change it up every week. Check a different class each week. And check something different each time.

I beg to differ, a steel head will pull off the corner like that. We qualified in on time in a Clash Race with a steel head while others were running all aluminum and had to run heats to get in.

i think he means a 365 cubic inch steel motor pull like that. but i do think that some simple checks in late model should be considered ,like if you are running the correct weight for what is being claimed. the class has grown and some if policeing isnt done the class will get out of hand then the limited/ steel head class will be back to supers.

It was a 365 ci all steel motor with no weight penalty.

i am not tring to say who has what. we know that greg has always had strong engines. even though all this is off topic. when checking cars came up i was just more less posting i would like to know that tracks are checking cars for some thing to make sure teams are walking striaght and narrow.

I was just clearin that up, lol. But I also agree that the top 3 or even top 5 cars should be checked in each class like Chris said. Check something different each week. Keeps folks on their toes! Hope to see some of the LM's from CLR at Clary's this weekend!

If they are going to be policed the right way, there needs to be someone who knows the ins and outs of late models, and not associated with any car at the track.

You do realize that the S.M.A.R.T. series has different rules for when we come to town on June 14th, right?

Check the rules for this race at http://www.smartracingseries.com/

He is talking about Greg's steel head motor, not the SB2.Not all of Williams & Dickerson's motors are SB2s.
