Rolling Thunder “Modified Madness” 2008 – Langley Speedway – May 31st, 2008

Today, Jerry Sink – President of the Rolling Thunder Modified Series Announced the format for the first
running of “Modified Madness”, to be held at historic Langley Speedway.

The format for this event is as follows.

There will be a targeted 28 car starting grid
All teams will qualify on time
The top 6 qualifying cars will be inverted.
The top 6 teams in points in Langley Speedways Modified Division will be locked into the field,
regardless of qualifying time. These 6 will be determined after the regular Langley modified feature to be
run on May 24th, 2008. If any of the top 6 cars choose not to run in this event, then no additional “locked
in” cars will be added and the cars left must qualify either on time or by transfer from a “Last Chance”
event.

The top 6 teams in points for the Rolling Thunder Modified Series will be locked into the field, regardless
of qualifying time. If any of the top 6 cars choose not to run in this event, then no additional “locked in”
cars will be added and the cars left must qualify either on time or by transfer from a “Last Chance” event

The RTM teams locked in are listed below.
1) #99 – AJ Winstead
2) #2 – Doug Paasch
3) #21 – Aubrey Thurston
4) #66 – Marlin Gunter
5) #06 -- Gary Wheaton
6) #14 -- Ronnie Davis

We will take the 12 “Locked in teams” and the 14 additional qualifiers of the remaining teams for 26 cars
to be locked into the field

If there are less than a total of 30 cars that try to qualify for the race, then all of the competitors will be
allowed to race. If more than 30 try to qualify for the race, then a 20 lap “Last Chance Sprint” race will be
run for original qualifying positions 27+ to transfer the top 2 finishing cars into the main feature
Additionally, the following add-ons will be part of the overall awards given out on May 24th
RTM will provide the Sunoco Pole Award to the pole winner regardless of which division driver takes the
award. This is usually a plaque and a $100.00 check, but the pole award has increased to $200.00 courtesy
of Jerry Smith with the “Racers Edge”
Stock Car products will provide the following additional amounts to the purse for this race
$250.00 for 1st place
$150.00 for 10th place
$100.00 for last place
There will be a $100.00 bonus for the driver leading at “Lap#36”

**You must be a registered member of the RTM series to be eligible for all other normal (RTM) contingencies
given out after the race**
