ok, mr cogdell, we will match your $50 and raise you $50 if it is a clary's car that wins! :Doh:what do you think? are you game?
same rules as last year, must be a clean race and must be running competitively at the end of the race.

brick bounties are always paid in full.

What happens if Victor finishes third? Does the 1st and 2nd place cars split the bounty or does just the winner get $50? If nobody collects the bounty will it be rolled over until the next race and more money be added to it? Alot of tracks roll over the bounty and add to it!

I would guess that winner gets the bounty and it's not rolled over since Clary's is racing the following week......Winner would get $100 if it's not a Clary's car and if it is a Clary's car it's $150.......nad remember same rules as last year, good clean racing with Vitor running competively at the end.....

Brickmaker is matching Wesley's and raising him 50 if it's a Clary's car......now let's see if anyone wants to match the raise......

What would ever make someone think 2nd place should get anything? More liberalism I guess . Also I haven't seen were the track is putting up anything to roll over. All private funds here. People who just dont mind paying a little extra for some extra excitement. :wings_biggrin:

looks to me like the original bounty is for anyone who can out run Victor, then Jeff stepped up and matched that plus added $50 if it's a Clary's car that does it......so I would be guessing the bounty does not apply to Victor should he win......

the clean part applies to the Clary's cars too. if they're took out, the deal is off.

That's my thinking too. If you're going to reward one driver for cleanly outrunning Victor, why not reverse the role and let Victor keep the spoils if he cleanly outruns everyone else.

That wouldn't be fair for Victor. If the money is up for grabs, and no one can out run him cleanly, then the money should be his.

I mean there's some of you on here who've been around racing longer than I have and ya'll know that if the said car that the bounty was placed upon wins the race fair and square, that car takes the prize. If it's going to be done, it should be done right. If it's done the right way, I'll add what little bit I can to up the bounty on the CLR side of this. Anyone else from CLR want to match me $25 to make it an extra $50.

Is it a bounty or a bonus?

brickmaker
05-16-2008, 02:07 PM
bounties are not bonuses.

bounties are placed are certain cars/drivers and collected only by the person that outruns them.

check around - tyler county has one on the gambler, only collected by the one that out runs him. FMS HAD one on glen howard, same deal.

OK for clarification, if a car other than the 35 of Victor May wins at CLR tomorrow night Wesley has put up a $50 bounty matched by the bricks for a total of $100........

If a Clary's car happens to be the winner not only do they get that $100 but another $50 from the bricks and $50 from Dan Blaylock for another $100 making it an extra $200 if a Clary's car can win tomorrow night......

and no matter who wins they get an extra $35 from Jason Rhodes

and all stipulations of clean racing and the fact that Victor must be running competively at the end still apply.....

that's the bounty as it stands now.......am I correct?

If Victor wins fair and square, then he should get the bounty money. I think thats how it was done at Clary's when the bounty was on the mini stock Toyota. (can't remember drivers name) Just my opinion.

Wesley said ANYONE who out ran Victor. I was just sitting and thinking if Victor finished third then wouldn't second be out running Victor too?

Most tracks I've known that have had bounties(at least a few years ago) If the bounty was $50 and not collected, the next week the bounty would be $100, if not collected that week the next week would be $150 and so on until the track put a cap on it or the bounty collected

Brett

Yeah but like it was said before, its a bounty not a bonus. As for rolling over, South Boston's bounty rolls over til someone gets it...but the track put that up, not outside sponsors. SO this one shouldn't. The only time I've seen the guy the bounty was on take the money, was when he started at the rear. I've seen the deal where he could drop to the back and if he won from the rear he collected the bounty, but if someone else won they got it.

Mr. Brick Folks, I know ... everybody is just scraping by now, but I bet you have more total assets than Wes does, and you can probably write off all or most of that $25 I'd be giving to Wes as advertising, Wes can't. Wes put up $50, then you put up $100 and wanted Wes to match it. Since the $100 was your idea, you left Wes with $50 he didn't originally put up, so I thought I'd help him out. If he doesn't want the help, I'll do something else with the $25 (like putting it toward a cheap motel instead of trying to make the 140 mile drive home and possibly avoiding a disaster like last year).

:Supprise: one MAJOR problem with your point. i don't own or control any of the items in your pictures and as such, have no means of writing anything off! i hate you wrecked your car, but not sure how i have any blame in that.

i would hope that you are not infering that there was an advertising agreement with you for pictures for which you did not get paid - there wasn't! any pictures you took were your choice and i don't have any control of what you do with your pictures.

i have no idea about wesley's assets as you have no idea how far in debt i may be. and yes things are slow everywhere! we went from working 6 and 7 days a week to 3 part days - - don't ya think my wallet feels the crunch also? or do you think all companies make profits like oil companies - even though i am not a company - just an employee.

this bounty was done out of fun with private money! just something to spark some interest - looks like it has done that! LOL

All I said is that I'd help Wes if he wanted to match you and couldn't afford your "raise" of up to $100. Then you claim to be poor like the rest of us so your $100 should be matched. Well your flaw is that you are apparently several people ("we just scraped this up between all of us"), which should more than make up for the fact that ya'll are not a deductable business entity, but you are still several people and Wes is only one person. Another flaw is if you worked 6-7 days a week last year, where did all that money go? So basically you want Wes (who has hardly any money because he's a college student) to match you several people who do (or should) have money. Real nice of ya. And Wes just put up a bounty, not a bidding war for who can put up more for the bounty.

Anyway, I have to get ready to go and can't be on the computer any more ... so if you respond, it will be to someone who can't defend themselves. I'll be there tonight if you have anything further to say. Maybe we can all have a picture taken together :click:

OK, first off the bounty is just that a bounty not a bonus......second I don't recall seeing a number of people involved in the brick bounty, a few can be anywhere between 3 and infinity......third, this was done simply to stir some interest and maybe get a few more cars to the track, wasn't meant to be a competition, was meant to be fun and stir some interest......I hardly think anyone is implying Wesley has to come up with a match for the 100 for the a Clary's car should one win, just doing it to see if even more interest could be stirred.......don't think things should be taken so seriously, jeez, everone was just having fun.....and the idea was to try and help out CLR, not to ruffle feathers........and last but not least only half of the that hundred came from the bricks, the other half is from Dan Blaylock......once again it is all in fun........see ya'll at CLR tonight!
