The Carolina Clash Super Late Models will be at Wythe Raceway on the high banks of the 1/2 mile clay oval Saturday Night May 17th. For the first time in series history there will be TWIN 25 main events for the Carolina Clash drivers. Each 25 lapper will pay $2,500 to win. Series Director, Clint Elkins said that "Wythe Raceway is one of the few tracks that drivers can go three wide and win coming from the rear." The TWIN 25 race format will see all cars qualify with the top 16 locked in for the first feature. Then several consi races will determine the rest of the 24 car starting field. Over 40 Super Late models are expected to compete for a coveted starting position in the first 25 lap feature. Should some of the cars from the first race be unable to continue the 24 car starting grid will be filled by their finish in the consi races.

Clash points leader "Rambo" Franklin, Gaffney, SC has a10 point advantage over Ricky Weeks of Rutherfordton, NC. Weeks holds the track record at Wythe with a 16.552 second lap. Recently retired Billy Hicks, Mt Airy, NC has a total of four Clash wins with Franklin, Weeks and Jeff Smith each having two feature wins at Wythe.
