Not a good sign. The first friday night I have I can get there is probally gonna be the first week of June. BUT I WILL GET THERE>
I wish everyone would just take a friday night real soon and head down there. I know there have been some things said and done from alot of people. But they have tried to offer fans a place to attend on friday nights and also drivers a place to race. Now they need support from the fans and the racers.
You know track owners are not differant from you and me. They have bills, increase in fuel prices and other finacial issues just like we do. All I have heard all season has been positive. Track conditions are much improved. I know the car counts have been decent. from what I have heard all they are lacking are some fans. I'm gonna do what I can as soon as I can. How about some of you go outa your way a little and try and help out. Just a couple extra fans from LRC could be enough to fill up the water truck the following week with fuel. You never know.

JH Thanks!
It looks like the overall car count took a hit on May 9th. Hopefully that will pick back up.
I can't really comment on the fan count and what all that means. The only thing I know about Dublin (the town) is that a race track is there and it's a few miles down the road from FMS. Hopefully support will pick up.

I have been asking fans and drivers for 3 weeks now to come support Dublin. I also threw out the "Stop the Bonus" post to hopefully get people to see how bad times are. Everybody thought I was the bad guy.
DRIVERS and FANS from Clary's please come and support Dublin this Friday if possible........ I know it is a long haul on a Friday, but take Saturday night off and go to Carolina Cross Roads this week. Maybe if you have a few extra $$$$ Stay over night and if the car is ok go to FMS or Hammerdown......
See everybody Friday!
It appears that the new "closed" dates are all around holidays. I imagine this played a part also with people having plans on Memorial Day and July 4th weekend. Car count was off on 5/9 from previous....I know of 10 cars that were either not ready or drivers had family committements. Hopefully, it will pick back up and the economy will get better.

Well here goes the Super Late Model class.....I think if nothing else you should increase the payouts because of gas prices and how far some drivers come just to race at dublin. The Super late Model class is what everybody wants to see and now you are not going to have but a few because drivers dont want to drive that far for nothing.......................

They had only 9 last week I belive. KInda hard to pay more when you are not making enough to pay what you are paying now. They had a good car count in the SLM the first weeks of the season and no fans. Maybe if racingfan06 wants to see slm's so bad he could step up and help sponsor the track? If not just help out by attending.
Some of the SLM that are following the Clash has said that after 6 or 7 races, they may return to our local tracks, depending on their points. If they are not doing that well in the Clash series, you know they have to be feeling the $ crunch.

"Due to the economy and the continuing rise in fuel costs, we are making some changes that we feel are necessary to deal with the current crisis"
by lowering the purses that isn't helping any of the drivers, if anything that's going make several of your out of town drivers to not return to dublin. dublin needs to start being like dublin and stop copying from surrounding tracks. last year dublin was trying to copy fms and it didn't work out, now they're copying hammerdown. i thought dublin would have learned their lesson, but apparenly not.

Gone to a Clash race. Any night there's gonna be a clash race on a friday night, of course dublins car count isn't going to be high. it was the same way way fayetteville last year when clash had a close race.
If I not mistaken, the "Clash Series" issued a post earlier this season that they would not be racing on Fridays due to putting a hardship on teams traveling, plus not to hurt the tracks that run on Friday nights. It appears that this has changed due to all the rain-outs that they have had. Again, I think in a week or two, teams that are not standing well in the points will come back local due to the economy. At least, DMS is running the SLM weekly. Bottom line is that track owners and racing series will do what it takes to survive.

more money=more drivers=more fans=more money for the track. common sense

well jhoffical i go every single week and have always love to support the dublin and fms but now dublin wants to be like hammerdown.... Just be dublin. But cutting down the purse is not going to bring more drivers it is going to lose more drivers.

i think FMS limiteds every other week helps to tell you the truth JMO look at it this way $8,000 payout all the way down in SLM ok less in LLM saves money ppl want to see SLM's but saving money for night that the clash is off pays off and WoO is alot of money just for the NAME World Of Outlaws you are paying the promoter of WoO to get the cars there and Dublin needs to save money close down for a few weeks and come back strong Example CLARYS blew alot of money on the $20,000 race but look at them now they closed down recooped and come back strong got clash in the house hey take some notes guys

Just for the last time to put this to bed. Actually it has nothing to do with this thread but since someone else brought it up. Clary's made in excess of over $18,000 dollars off the $20,000 to win show I know this for a fact, belive what you want. The closing had absolutely nothing to do with that rumor of losing money.
The Clash this past Friday night did not hurt the SLM count at Dublin. Everyone has ideas of how to turn things around when its not there money on the line. I say support the track and maybe they can make money to turn the corner or else we all will be sitting here saying I told them from my recliner how to solve the problem once they close the gates.

from the clash race last fri night...5 of them on the rundown have ran DMS this yr. 2 of them have won at DMS this yr...GR has ran DMS multiple times this yr and won, Craig Shuffield is a local regular, Ed Gibbons is a local who has also won there this yr, Ricky Boahn is a local and has ran there multiple times this yr, also Scott Neighbors is a local and has ran there this yr.
Greg....the above is correct plus we were missing #15 Dean Bowen and # 9 Sugar Bear due to family commitments. Lets not forget that alot of fans left on Friday to camp out at Darlington for the Sat race plus both high school baseball teams are in the state playoffs (both within 8 miles of track) and they both play again Fri night.

im not sure where #15 and #9 have been on fri nights..i know they have been at HDS the past 2 sat nights. i guess like you said they have had other commitments on fri night..but i do know that when DMS lowered the purse last yr the SLM teams complained so now this yr DMS goes back to $2,000 to win and the SLM will not show up, what is up with that? DMS tries to make everyone happy and then the teams will not come and support them so they have no other choice which really sucks bc that might keep some of the non reg away now but that is what happens when the reg will not support the local track. so there should be :no34:from the teams that were not there on a reg basis
agree.....#9 was at his son's game and heard that the #15 had a family commitment.

Greg, that's a GREAT post, right there! That's the complete and true story in a nut-shell. For the SLM situation to "work", it has to be a two-way street. In this economy, DMS must have the support of the SLM community.
Yet another mystery in this drama, (and I'm not being critical of HDS), by racing at Hammerdown for a lower purse, what is that really "saying"? Will the SLM teams race for a lower purse? Evidently.

How many actual "supers" are running at HDS? It may be easier for some to run on Saturday night as well.

the thing about HDS its almost half and half so maybe 6 SLM at most and 6 LLM..and $1,500 to win in LLM every week is a good purse but for the SLM its a lil lower. but the way it has been going the SLM cars are gonna win every week so the LLM cars right now are mainly running for 2 on back maybe 3rd on back at best esp with #25 and #15 there lol....but another thing i think for HDS to get many more cars in the LM class they are gonna have to split the SLM and LLM up bc the LLM not all of them are gonna go for that..

The limited cars supported Hammerdown first and still have more cars weekly than the supers. In my opinion the first limited to finish should get paid for first in that class and some other payout should be arranged for the supers until they have enough supers to run their own race.
I guess if everyone understands the LM rules, and are willing to run under them, there's not much to be said. I agree though, eventually something will have to be done to divide the classes.
