Zebulon’s Chris Ray made a pass with two laps to go to get by race leader Britches Liles. The #R5 of Ray had made several attempts at a pass earlier in the ferature, but was denied. It was the first victory in nearly a year for the Monte Carlo of Ray. Bailey’s Liles was able to hole on to finish second in the #L2 Camaro after suffering a deflatting right front tire. Third went to the hard charging #84 Chevrolet of Mark McDaniels. McDaniels came from his last place starting position after a last lap spin in his heat race. Elm City’s Alan Worrells brought his #28 Camaro home in fourth. Rounding out the top five was the the #61 Monte Carlo of Rocky Mount’s Wade Ferrell. Ray and Ferrell won the heat races.
