LINCOLNTON, N.C. (May 5) - After just finishing a record $20,000 weekend the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series is back at it again this weekend with another huge pair of events.

The first stop for the weekend will be at Lennie Hobbs' Gordon Park Speedway in Augusta, GA. This will be the make-up event that was rained out in March. The 40 lap main event will pay $4,000 to the winner with an extra $500 bounty to anyone that can out run Ed Basey in winning the event.

Basey, from nearby Evans, GA has won all three Carolina Clash Series events held at the 4/10 mile oval located less than 2 miles form Fort Gordon Military Base. "Basey has been awfully tough at Gordon Park," said Carolina Clash President Larry Lee. "Lennie Hobbs and his crew do a great job of preparing the surface at Gordon Park and we are certainly looking forward to getting down there."

On Saturday night the series will make their first ever visit to Screven Motor Speedway. This will be a 50 lap feature paying $5,000 to the winner. Any driver than can win both races will receive a $1,000 bonus being sponsored by Hobbs and Sons Construction and Lee Furniture of Fayetteville, NC.

"We have heard a lot of great things at Screven Motor Speedway," said Lee. "It is phenomenal what James Griffin has done with that place in such a short amount of time. He has one of the most aggressive schedules of any race track in the country and we are very honored to be a part of it."

"The race tracks are only a little over an hour apart so grouping them together just made sense with the price of fuel," said Lee. "We are looking for a solid field of cars and a great weekend of racing."

Dennis 'Rambo' Franklin will lead the Carolina Clash 'Bad Boys' to town as they prepare for their first battle of the year against the legendary 'Georgia bandits'.
