COOL!! Now we can come run when CLR is closed! It would be nice if we could run our Thunder & Lightning cars too but they are illegal by Clary's rule book.

Call and talk to Jonathan I gave him the dates that you guys were not running, they may try to work you in a class accoriding to your rule book with some weight adders????? (Like the BRICK"GRASS"Nationals")

Well Charlie you told me at FMS that you thought they would start running limiteds at Clarys before the season was over and they are...did you have inside knowledge or something?

We'd love to have ya'll when CLR is off Chris, I know there is a clause in the general rules about cars from other tracks and possibly adding weight to allow them to run.....Best of luck to ya'll this weekend!

since this class is taking the sportsmans spot is it goin to pay the same purse as the sportsman? i think its a great idea and know of three cars right now who would come from the richmond area and possibly more, maybe even a couple from southern maryland.

ThaHornet

then how are you spose to get a aluminium head steel block crate motor to 2100 pounds? not to much of a advantage there

u could get by with a crate motor maybe at a slick track, but clarys which seems to have alot of traction, i think you would be at a disadvantage even if you could get down to 2000 lbs. just my 2 cents.

clracer
05-05-2008, 08:07 PM
by the rules for the guys running crate motors like myself have an advantage with the weight but there is no way of getting the car down to 2100 pounds. so thats an advantage that i cant take advantage of

Our late model weighs 2300 lbs with the driver, no weight, and only 20 gallons of fuel! There's no way they'll get down to 2100 lbs unless the driver weighs about 75 lbs. :18lol:

Thats right. The weight for the crate cars should be 2300 and go up from there depending on what the cars have for engine combo with a max of 2500. FMS a few years ago had a weight rule of 2500 for limited, not sure what it is now.

We weigh in at 2420 with driver,25 gallons of fuel.
Marcia, i was not trying to single out Clary's rules or CLR's. I was just saying there is no real advantage to running a crate because most can not get down to the 2100 ibs.

ONE HUGE ADVANTAGE WOULD BE $5000.00 vs.........$10,000.00-$20,000.

Last night we scaled ours....it was 2364 lol

Our steel block car weighs over 2550 already, because we have to add weight to get it to scale out right!

Keeping that in mind, my comment was more for someone who had said in another conversation you couldn't get a lm or SLM much below 2300 and this was just an opportunity for me to put it out there that it is possible......
