Rain Forces Cancellation of Thurston Spring Service Dirt Series Night Activities at Virginia Motor Speedway

Jamaica, VA –Persistent rain showers and the forecast for more of the same throughout the day have forced officials at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway to cancel Thurston Spring Service Dirt Series Night activities for Saturday, April 5th.

“We are tremendously disappointed that Mother Nature has forced us to cancel an event this early in the season. But with the amount of rain we received last night, the threat of more severe weather and with the price of gas we feel it is in everyone’s best interest to cancel tonight’s racing program,” commented track General Manager Clarke Sawyer.

With the rain out officials will now shift gears towards next weekend’s Friday April 11th visit by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series for the $10,000 to win Rumble on the River 4.
