I took these around 1 pm today. Sorry for the poor photo quality but I took them with my phone and I'm definitely not a photographer LOL I stalked by there again after work and techman's right, it's covered...won't be long.....the place is looking great and the track looks 10x better now that it has dirt on it!

Poor quality??? Candy, are you kidding? They look pretty good to me!!! You'd never know they weren't taken with a camera. Thanks for sharing. I've been wanting to get over there to see it for myself, just haven't gotten around to it.

Awesome, nothing better than dirt on an asphalt track. Except cars on a dirt track that used to be asphalt..LOL

Did they tear up all the asphalt? That last photo, looks like there is some asphalt there or am I wrong? Also how thick is the dirt?

Folks, I went by the track last night and I want to tell you, it brought a tear to my eye. 'Finally, the DIRT has come back to Friendship!!!' The inside walls in the turns have been moved in, the corners are nice and wide, and from what I could tell from the stands, the crown that was in the middle of the banking is now gone. Only three weeks till racing, but the place should be ready well before then. It looks like all that is left is mixing in the sawdust and putting up the barrier around the top of the outside walls. Denny and Phil have down an incredible amount of work in a short time. As I've said before, I'm not a big fan of Crates as a feature division, but it's gonna be a lot better than what's been there the last 5 years.
