I just got back from my first time, and possibly last time, going to fms. Don't remember the names of the winners, but you didn't miss much unless you like watching caution laps. I love dirt racing, don't get me wrong, but for a track to be in that condition for the opening event! UNEXCUSABLE!!! If FMS normally looks like that, i can't belive yall get the clash, WoO, and Lucas oil to come to that track. I've never seen a track with that many ruts in it, if it had of been a little warmer today I swear corn would started popping up on those rows. Great looking confield, bad looking track. Looked more like a sunday drive on the farm than a race!

Hye calikid, I said I might not be back, i know for a fact I can't make it again until the night the clash is coming in april. I'm just saying that based on what i saw today, the track prep was horrible, but i do believe you that it is normally better. The race i saw on dixiedirt.com from FMS looked pretty good, i was just really disappointed today because I expected better. First time I've ever been to a dirt race where I left feeling like I didn't get my moneys worth. Yea the track did start getting better later in the day, but after those rains last night, the track crew should have been there bright and early to smooth out the track. I'll prlly decide whether or not to come see the clash based on what i read on here over the next few weeks, so yall let me know if the track gets better!

i will say the track is usually in pretty good shape. i wasnt there today so i cant comment on the track condition. everybody has bad days. fms will get it right. they usually have it pretty smooth from what i have seen.

Good day, overall. The track was a little rough - but it was daylight and we had heavy rain yesterday.
The raceivers were a great idea. They don't stop cautions, but they sure got the green back out quicker.

If there was a Goody's headache award then DJ Tyndall would have won it. He got hit by everything but the pack car today and still finished fourth. At one point the caution was out and a car hit him wide open in the rear end because they didn't see the caution lights. I have no idea what was going on in the late model class but people were driving crazy! I think DJ would have finished higher if he wouldn't have tore the spoiler off... I'm sure that hurts the areo even on dirt.

There were some scoring problems too. Like when D.J. passed the 06 and the 88 as they spun out in turn four... then they put them back in 4th and 5th. If you spin out and cause the caution you ought to go to the rear.. but hey what do I know. I still think it was pretty good racing overall in the other classes. How bout Glen Howard coming from 16th to first in about eight laps in Super Street. I wish the 11 car would have held together, I'd liked to have seen them battle for the win.

I want to Commend FMS on the track i think it was in EXCELLENT CONDITION under the circumstances! It was a Day race and it was a little windy which dries the track out really fast! The track was Very smooth when i got there at 1:30 and i think it held up great for a day race! Wish i would have gotten the car fixed before the heat race i think i could have run a little better, still workin out some bugs but i was happy with the it it in the main and the finish we got and a clean car at the end of the race! GREAT JOB FMS!! Jim great job on the flagstand! I think the whole day was a success i think more rain out should be run on sundays. KUDOS! TO FMS AND STAFF!!!

The lady that had the pill bucket for the Super Street Race, Guess who had poll HER HUSBAND!!! And just as soon as Glenn Howard took the lead they threw the white and checkered come on doesn't something smell funny. Glenn Howard is a good driver he doesn't need that kind of help!:confuzeld: It was just really disappointing....

Don't whine about Glenn getting help... the reason the white and checkered came out was because of the time limit. That race would have never ended if the flag didn't fly. I don't know how many times last year I saw the pure stock/super street guys run 30 minutes for 15 laps. Yesterday they made 8 laps in 30 minutes. What was the track supposed to do, run 30 more minutes and finish the race? They did the right thing just calling it at the time limit. Glenn started last and still won... what more do you want! haha

joel won his heat race that is why he started on the pole not bc of a pill draw. he started 3rd in his heat race and i started on the pole but had problems.

Greg, I hated to see you get a push and then the left turn. Your motor was running so I'm guessing transmission trouble. Hope it's something minor and that you will be back next week. Good Luck.
As for Super8racing, correct me if i'm wrong but this is what I saw. They were finishing under a green-white-checker. They took the green flag with Joel in 1st made a lap with no incident then took the white flag with Joel still leading. Joel then spun out with no help and Glenn took the lead and won. Am I correct so far? Green-white-checker rules have always been that after you take the white flag even if there is a wreck the race is over when you get back to the flag. It doesn't matter if the leader wrecks and in this case Joel had no help.
And don't anyone get me wrong, I have met Joel before and he is a nice guy and a good driver. He just overdrove it just a bit and Glenn was there to capitalize. Also, don't hate on Glenn. He drove a great race coming from way in the back to put himself in the position to win.
These are just my observations and my opinions.
Overall I enjoyed a nice Sunday afternoon of racing with my son. Anyone who didn't like the track should understand that we had heavy downpours on Saturday evening. I think FMS did a good job of just making sure the track was raceable. It did have some bad ruts but that is not the norm for FMS. I mean come on it was the 1st race of the year. Just be glad dirt racing season is back in at FMS.
I would like to say GOOD LUCK to all the drivers who will be running FMS this year. DRIVE HARD and BE SAFE! Because without you guys slinging dirt on Saturday nights it would be a bore.

lightin, sry to make you mad buddy, i was just callin how i saw it form the stands in turn 4, and it looked real rough from there. I just thought that after the rains the owners would have done extra work that morning to get it ready. It got better by the time the open wheels ran, but i felt bad for the guys running LM and Super street. A lot of them have damage to repair this weekend because of the track, it looked hard to control over there. The track just needed to be packed down more before the race after those heavy rains. I've had a few ppl tell me the track is not normally that rough, so as of now i plan on being back in april to see the clash.

Sorry "04_Carter_Fan" I didn't have my pen and paper ready after that race so I wrote it down after they were past the checkered flag. I don't blame you for making the correction you have every right to be proud of your nephew!
