Good to see the #02 of Damon Kotke and the #28 of Chris Marshall at HammerDown today. Marshall had trouble in his heat and didn't make it to the feature. Kotke looked strong, but I was told his tires went away so he didn't bring home the win.

How many late models? Any others we would recognise?

They only had 6. #04 Jeff Young from Wytheville/Fork Fountain, DMS/FMS driver #53 Brad Fowler, #98 Zac Cox, and a #y0 that came with Jeff Young.
I know saying only 6 sounds bad but this track is the smallest track I have ever seen a late model race on. 9 or 10 cars would be a full track

Hey Red Clay:
Do the Sprint cars race at RedSprings track every week or just there this past week?

The mini sprints race there every week. The second week in March will be a great weekend. Its will be the Sprint National open and they should have anywhere from 60-150 Mini sprints there

It was good to see Damon Kotke there for the first time and Chris Marshall there for the second time. Chris was involved in a heat race accident and it looked like they were trying to fix it for the feature but didn't make it out. Damon's car was pushing a little bit, which did result in his tires going away. Unfortunately for Damon, for the first time this year they watered the track during the program, and they did it when the sun was getting low in the sky and it was starting to cool off. There were more cars there this week so it did need a watering but the top of the track wasn't worked in real well and that's where Damon needed to run with the push he had. I think if the top wasn't so heavy, Damon would have been a factor in the feature. He tried going up there quite a bit during the feature but the track wasn't good enough up there for him to be real fast.
BTW: great run for the #98 of Zach Cox to get the Late Model win. :1stplace2:
