The member of The Racers Edge message board would like to invite everyone down to the North South Shootout. It's only natural that the most exciting confrontation of the season matching the Modifieds from the North & South is held at the Fastest, most Exciting Half-Mile Track on the East Coast... CONCORD, with that incredibly fast long backstretch that separates the Men from the Boys! It would seem that (once again) our Northern Brotheren hold the "favorite's" cards, but don't think for a moment that the Rebs can't, and won't, rise to the occasion.
The tri-cornered Concord, looking as if it's a miniature Pocono, sports an absolutely beautiful facility that was built perfectly for high-speed racing, and seemingly for Modifieds in particular. The grounds here are spotless, the staff is down-home friendly and the concessions are as good as it gets. And... Concord's flagman is a whole show unto himself, with as many talented moves as the Modifieds have, and well worth the price of admission all by himself!
For those of us who have a few extra laps on us, those wonderful Vintage Modifieds will put an ear-wiggling grin on your face, and a twinkle in your eyes, as they race hard down Memory Lane, bringing back the Good Ole Days when "run what you brung" was the word of the day, and the best mechanics were most often the best drivers, as well! The top names in Modified Racing over the past 50-some years will be at Concord Motorsports Park to put on the Premier Modified Show on the East Coast... and any racer worthy of his long necks and cigars already knows that this event is "what it's ALL about"!
While you're there... stop by The Racers Edge camper which will have a banner hanging proudly with our logo and engage in some hob-nobbin' and glad handin' with some of the RatPackers and Edgers. And remember... if you don't love Modifieds, you just might not have a soul! You can find more on the NSS at www.racingontheedge.com (http://www.racingontheedge.com/)
