Schedule's being announced at the banquet tonight at Lowe's Motor Speedway. Here's the Fayetteville portion of it.
April 12 - $4K to win
July 5 - $5K to win
Aug. 30 - $5K to win
Sept. 27 - $9K to win
The last two events are part of the new five-race Countdown to the Cup. Starts on a Friday night, Aug. 22, at Gastonia, followed by Aug. 30 * FMS. Continues Sept. 6 * Lancaster, S.C., Sept. 13 * Wythe Raceway, and concludes with the Clash Bash * FMS on Sept. 27.
New stop on the schedule includes the USA 100 at Virginia Motor Speedway in Saluda, Va., on Aug. 9. It's a co-sanction race with the Mid-Atlantic Championship Series and pay $10,000 to the winner (heck, the heat races pay $1,000 to win or so ...). That's the last race before the Countdown begins.
Schedule will also include twin features at Wythe in May. Drivers will earn points that night for their better finish.
Unless somebody else releases it first, I'll post the full schedule Sunday morning once it's run in The Fayetteville Observer.
TP
(P.S.: Don't forget the "Let's Go Racing" podcast late Thursday/early Friday each week. This week's upcoming show includes much more detail about the '08 Clash schedule with series director Clint Elkins.
