Late Model & Open wheels added to Hammer Down Jan 5

According to the track website..Late Model and Open wheel mods have been added to the schedule for January 5 at Hammer Down Speedway in Red Springs NC if anyone is intrested

I wouldn't go as far as to say they've been added. According to the website, they "want" to run them.

It says that about every class listed. If any show up they will race them.

Sounds like they'll run just about anything anyone will bring. Should be interesting. I'd like to go down to take photos, just not sure I'm ready for the 240 mile drive from Richmond. If I could hook up with someone somewhere close to I-95 along the way who had an extra seat, then I'd probably be able to make it (of course I'd be very appreciative and pay some for gas). has the track been made bigger i haven't been to hammerdown in years last i was there i ran the 250cc sprints and it was kinda small i hope they have a good turnout and some good racing...

nope its the same size. and when i went over the the other day it still had the 4ft fence around it. and the pics on the website are not from hammerdown

exactly the track is the same and IMO isnt built for cars, but they are giving it a shot but i dont see it happening. nothing against there effort or the track but it cannot hold a good race with full size cars IMO. if you hit the wall at this place well its a fence then you are going through it.

i only live about 3 miles from the track and when the previous own had it my dad and i use to take our car out there. if you go out there you better have a 7something gear

I believe it the pics on the website were misleading i thought they looked a little odd...i know the track is small i used to race go-karts there like 13-14 yrs ago...who knows maybe it'll be good racing i just don't see how they could ever get up to speed with size of the track...good luck to i hope it works out what are they payin in OWM?maybe i'll run down there this year.

yea i raced go karts down there way back when i first started racing. and the pics on there are way off from the real thing. im not sure the real point in why they put them up unless it is to lure the ppl in but anyway good luck to them and i would be there is it wasnt for the DMS banquet but o well. all classes are $500 to win as long as that class has atleast 15 cars, that right there is asking alot. so are you racing OWM this yr AJ? :havefun::drivecar:
