Not really racing related, but it does offer a chance to hang out together away from the track and support a good cause.
Every Year the RR Fire Department and RR Police Department have a flag football game to raise money for needy children to take Christmas shopping.
Now I know you are asking well this ain't racing and what does it have to do with Clary's. Well I will tell ya LOL. Danny Hudson and Ricky Dickens play for the RR Fire Department and yours truly will be handling the PA on Nov 4th at 3pm.
So if you get a chance swing by RR High School on Nov 4th at 3pm and watch these guys try not to embarrass themselves to much and help raise some money for a great cause.

ROANOKE RAPIDS - The frozen tundra of Hoyle Field ... Well, it might not be frozen. In fact, the atmosphere should be warm as police and firefighters play for needy children.
The fifth Turkey Bowl will be played Sunday, Nov. 4 at 3 p.m., to raise funds for the Christmas for Kids/Shop With a Cop shopping spree, a joint effort by Roanoke Rapids' fire and police departments.
There was no Turkey Bowl last year, said Roanoke Rapids Police Officer Glen Teal. “It was due to a lot of injuries and shortages,” Teal explained. “The fire department had shortages and then when they could play it was too late for us. It was just a bad situation. It was just problems we couldn't resolve. Now it's back on.”
With new and eager faces on both sides, the excitement for the game is building, Teal said. “We have a lot of new guys who wanted to play for the first time. We've got almost a new ball club. We have so many new faces at the police department and so does the fire department. We talk about this all year long until it's time to play again. Most of us haven't got on the ballfield since high school. It's kind of a way to relive that.”
But what matters most, Teal said, is how much money is raised for the children. The money raised goes to the Christmas for Kids/Shop With a Cop shopping spree held at Wal-Mart a few weeks after the game.
“The kids are what is important,” said Lt. Kevin Hawkins of the fire department. “We look forward to the competition and naturally want to have bragging rights, but the main focus is the children.”
The fire department leads the series 3-1. “We're all looking forward to helping the kids in the community and helping them out. We missed that last year.”
A cash donation is required for admission to the game and there will be concessions and raffle tickets for sale.
Anyone who wants to make a donation can do so by sending their checks payable to Roanoke Rapids Police Club, P.O. Box 38, Roanoke Rapids NC 27870 or call Teal at 532-7943.
