david i dont think there is any rule change in the pure stock v8.
i do think there needs to be a procedures meeting on the race procedures.

that would be nice so we know under what circumstances we get some caution laps

you get caution laps for a flat tire and if we stop and tell you about sheetmetal that needs to be removed or pulled back. you only get the laps if you come in under your own power

yea there needs to be a procedure meeting... lol i dont race there but i did go watch this past w/e. i am sure i aint the only one that agrees that there was way to many caution laps before the T&L race got started, they must have rode around the track for 10 mins for no reason except for unorganization.. the cars go so fast under caution that the field cant catch up with each other. slow them down so the field is bunched and u can go racin with out the field strung out all around the track. if they will not slow down put them to the rear.. i mean why did they have to go so fast the caution was out not the green flag. this is just some constructive critsizim.. if u dont like it o well but this is what i saw and it didnt make any since to me why this was going on

one of the biggest things I think they need to address is the fact of about fighting or whatever.. there has to be some kind of punishment so they dont want to come back to fight anymore. Suspend them, put a fine on them that must be paid before they can race again and add that to the points fund, ban them from the track. ... SOMETHING has to be done or it will NEVER end.

about the speed under caution. i have told britches more than a few times to slow down under caution. one thing that does bother me is they dont back off when i flip the yellow light on. if its on, there is danger somewhere on the track. SLOW DOWN

well that is what i was thinking when the yellow is on SLOW down. as long as they have been racing if they dont understand that then put them behind somebody that knows what to do and let them learn. heck if they aint gonna slow down you mise well not even throw the caution then the night will be really caution free and the races would be done a lil earlier. but if you say you have told him more then a few times than maybe he dont understand what you mean. maybe you should show him and then he may wake up and catch the drift.inform him that the caution is out and that means slow down and that the cars behind him cant pass him then lol lmao.

the rule states that the leader sets a "reasonable" pace. or something along those lines. so yeah i think we need to have a meeting.

here ls part of the problem wesley, u say you have told britches time after time. stop telling him and put him to the back, thats the same problem u have with the fighting. they are told not to do it again.

Well its very hard for me to be critical of anything that happen Saturday Night being my first time and everything.
But at the start of the race when I came through 3-4 there were two cars spun so the caution came out. The reason so many laps were ran is there was fluid down in the turn. So they had us running the fiuld in. Well me not knowing how fast to go under yellow I was trying to go what I thought was safe speed for everyone, Me and the others around me LOL. I was trying to stay a reasonable distance behind the 95. well coming down the back straight I look over and the green is on. I thought that cant be we didn't bunch back up or anything. So I picked it u a little through 3-4 and looked up and sure enough the green was waving. I thought oh crap this ain't good, they are gonna catch me that much quicker. Now I would chalk all this up to it just me being new, but the 95 never had the chance to close up either.
That was the one thing that surprised me was the speed under caution. I don't know I could have been going slow and thought I was flying:smiley_374: I just assumed not knowing any better that under caution I should go about as fast or just a little faster than we were when rolling in the track. I know being in the back would have to pick up speed coming to the green, but I never knew we coming to the green.
I also learned something new to keep in mind when announcing or just talking about racing. It ain't easy to drive and look up at the flag-stand to. I was concentrating so hard on what I was doing, Iam sure I missed the one to go and from my understanding I missed the move over or slow car or lap traffic flag (whatever you want to call it ) a couple of times.
Like I said before its a WHOLE easier to talk about than it is to do it.

If the promoter/owner handled the fights and disagreement in a fashionable, speedy way and made the penalty sever enough like a stiff fine and so many weeks off and if that don't work press charges. I can guarantee if the penalty matches the offense's, there will be a whole lot less of them.

I tell you Walt this little experience has shed a whole new light on things and yes it will only help with announcing.

I know we watched the flagman and he did everything except get down off the flagstand and walk in front of the cars to try and slow them down. He was ignored. So, threaten with the black flag. If he/she doesn't slow down then either put them to the rear, back one position, or black flag them.
There has to be a severe penalty or the rule will be ignored! And the rules have to be applied to everyone in a like manner.
We had a track champion up north that had won the SLM championship 19 out of 20 years. Track took on new owners. The champion HAD been allowed to get away with murder. I listened on the radio when the new owner told them to put the champ to the rear. Almost every official said "Put xxxx to the rear!!!???" The answer was "Yes, he's in the wrong. You inforce the rules, and I'll take the heat". That was the first race of the year. It was amazing how smooth things ran that year. Because everyone knew they would get a fair shake. The pit count skyrocketed.
Sure, there was still bitching. But that's all it was. No favortism and all rules enforced will build your pit count.

Me For 1 Dint Like The Yellow On Til You Get To Turn 3 And Then It Goes Off And You Can Race..the Pace Was Way To Fast - I Was Turn 4 Thousand Rpm Under Caution Trying To Keek Up...way To Fast... The Flagman Suppose To Be In Charge If Going To Fast Black Flag Or Red Flag The Race Come Down And Tell Or Warn The Leader To Stay Around 22oo Rpm...then With 1 To Go Turn The Yellow Off When The Leader Goes Under The Flagstand And Blink The Green Light On And Off Till The Leader Get Come Turn 2 And Turn All Light Off....then We Are Ready To Go Racing In Turn3-4

Thats what I was looking for. I didnt even know the race had restarted. Glad to know it wasnt just me. Hell if I would known we were back racing then I could have made one or two more laps maybe before I got in Buddy's way:09Crazy:

There will be no rules meeting. The rules are already set. Basically no changes, just rephrasing of a few things. It was discussed at a drivers meeting a while back. Rules will be posted soon.
Our policy has always been to blink the yellow until the leader gets to the opening at the back stretch. The we cut the yellow off. Leader can go between the caution lights in turn three and turn four.

I have always said pull the weeds ( problem teams) and the green grass will grow.......(race teams that dont give you any problems.)So that means Tony Stewart Carl Edwards Kyle Petty Kenin Harvick and 75% of the rest should be taken out of NASCAR (or just racing) Who won'ts to watch a bunch of CHOIR BOYS race?

James, would there be any chance of maybe coming up with a penalty system and posting that on the rules page as well? That way they know what they are gonna face for their stupidity. Not sure what kind of rules you have in place or if its just a floating rule system, but maybe post that first infraction of fighting, gets you a $500 fine , loose 10 points, and suspended from track for 2 weekends. Then all the above must be met before returning. Impose the penalty on the car and driver... just a thought... maybe if they KNOW you are gonna impose some kind of repercussion for actions, it will stop it???
