View Full Version : I Need A Little Help From Clarys Drivers!!!

I haven't been asked yet or haven't even asked if they want us. But some may know they have had problems putting together the Christmas parade in Roanoke Rapids this year. Well My insurance agent just happens to be Jet Thomas (also help with sponsorship this year at the track) is on the newly formed committee. Well I though i might be a good idea if we could get a lot of cars from Clary's to be in the parade. I have been to the RR parade every year but 2 of my 41 years, both times I was gone in the Army. There used to be a lot of race cars in the parade in the past but that number has been steadily dropping. I don't know if the drivers were not interested or the parade didn't want them.

I think it would serve 3 purposes. One I remember as a kid in the Cub Scouts riding in the back of a truck throwing out candy and having a blast. So Drivers your kids would love riding in a race car seeing all the people.

Two it could help to get your name and your sponsors name out there again in front of a lot of people who don't even know about you or Clary's Speedway. It could also make it easier making those cold calls on getting some sponsor's lined up for next season.

Third and Most importantly to me LOL. It will be 5 Straight months before Clary's Speedway's name will be back out in front of the public. I think it could only help to break up that time with keeping the name out there and it can only be good publicity. I can already tell you there will be a lot of things done different next year as far advertising, sponsors and benefits to the whole Clary's scene.

So why don't we get the ball rolling early for next season. I am gonna offer, if I can get some more decals on my suburban and make some banners for the sides and participate myself. Don't leave me hanging by myself!!!!

I got the approval today!!!!! For how many or what ever I can put together. So I want alot :smiley_593: and even a big truck or two:fingers_crossed:

I've been trying to get Jerry to put the 03 in the Bailey Christmas parade for years!! No go. I'm sure that you can get a bunch of cars though, and if Bubba and I have enough notice, we might head up just to hitch a ride to throw out some candy if anyone will let us!

Hmm Like a big boom or dump truck. Probly have some banner on it saying something like "The Nash Brick Super Late Models At Clarys Speedway. Anyone know were I can find one of those?????:hide_390:

That would be good to see alot of cars rumbling down roanoke avenue . Let us know when it is I will make the trip back to my home town.

Racin' Mason is planning on puttng both of his cars in the parade... Also, about the "Dump Truck" Mason has just about anything you can think of except a boom truck.. I know he would be willing to put something in there for you guys.... Just let us know...

well william and I don't have a car but we will love to put th purple truck in the parade and throw out some candy to the parade watchers. we can make us some signs to go on the truck to show support for Clary's. just let us know what time and where to go to line up at JH. and we will be glad to show up.
