We absolutely had a ball......Rolled in Friday just in time for the drivers meeting, but that was cool, we managed to stay on track and be on time for everything......The hospitality of the track staff was outstanding, everyone was very helpful.......
We totally missed the mark Friday and pretty much looked like a couple of monkeys humping footballs(still did not do bad though as both Chigger and JC managed to bring the cars back to the trailers in one piece with only a little mud on them and no dents or dings)......Thanks to much help from a "Bare" on Saturday morning we came back on Saturday night with a much better set up and understanding on how to drive a very dry slick track......hot laps went well and JC managed to make the show finishing 2nd( he was driving his butt off and then I think he realized "hey I can ride now I'm in it")in the consi and Chigger only missed the transfer by 2 spots(two very close spots)......The drivers at this race were very friendly and each and every one drove one great race, no nose driving in this one folks, everyone was on their game and payed close attention to everything that was going on around them........Time management by the track was AWESOME......After a brake failure on lap 20, JC pulled it in leaving me free to watch Booper litterally run wherever he wanted and take checkered for the win......Awesome run by Boop........Walker Arthur put on one helluva show having to go to the rear and coming back through the pack on a mission to get to 7th by the time the checkered fell........In the Steel Block race it was all Mark Parks, the car was on a rail, he could put it where he wanted and just kept it there for the entire race, Congrats go out to Mark on his win, glad I was there to see it.......
Another highlight was the SLM simulator in the pits, our "boys" had a ball with that thing and each and everyone one of them got showed up Saturday night by Tyler Bare who took home the trophy with a time of 12.80........WTG Tyler
It was real nice to see Tommy Bare pace the field in an old red Chevy that he once drove and Booper had restored for him.....
All in all we had a very good trip and will return next year for this event......a big thanks to everyone at NBS......
