So Saturday night, Dave announced that there would be a "new look" for VMS when we go back next year, but woulld only ellaborate to say the some construction would be started during the off season. Anyone know, or think they know, what they have planned?

I don't know. But I'm hoping it's a tunnel I hate getting stuck in the pits, but after thinking but it more, It's probally going to be more stands cause the World of Outlaw Sprint Car ARE COMING next year so they prob want more seating

You know what I didn't think about that one, you may have something there. More stands for the bigger races.
A tunnel I don't know seems a bit much if you ask me.

I don't think it will be more stands because I talked to Bill at the MACS show and he said that they where thinking about dropping some of the big series shows because there was not enough support for them. Now he did not say which series it would be. I know I went to 5 shows at VMS this year and the big series shows didn't have as many people that a regular night had.

That's interesting. The only one of the big shows I can think of being less crowded than I thought it would be was the WoO show back in April, but I contribute that to the weather. I personally know a number of people that didn't go because of the threat of rain.
Granted, I didn't go to the AMA bike race, but understand that both years have been packed houses. That, and the WoO sprints coming to town could be a reason to add more stands.
One thing I would like to see is a track exit in turn one, so that when a group is done hotlapping or racing, they could head straight off the track, and the show could move a litte quicker.

what about the MACS show. It was even posted on here how few of people where there and I was there and the crowd was way off even according to some of regulars that go all the time. And its been posted that they wanted to cut back on some of the series shows at VMS. I sure didn't make that up or try to start a rumor or even start B/S. Thats just not me.

here's a few idea's i can think of
I like the idea of
track exit in turn one, so that when a group is done hot lapping or racing, they could head straight off the track, and the show could move a litte quicker.
Also,
bigger pits, are going to be needed for the woo sprints they all have semi's hopefully alot of guys from pa come down. It would be cool to have a sprint night 305's and the 410's that would be neet.
starting spot for the sprints. (the spot now is ok though)
a walking area for people going into the pits so they ain't in the way of the cars coming off the track. maybe a bridge like the grove.
higher roof by the scales so the sprints dont have to take off there wings.
stands, maybe some around 3 and 4 would be cool i guess.
how about a big screen like knoxville.

anything that they change at VMS, it is still gonna be a great facility regardless.

Stands it is! Plus a new racing surface for 2008. and I think a lil sumthing else, Bill was talking bout it down at the baquet. I know stands and he said sumthing bout bringing in new dirt or clay, but he also said that there were two big concrete tower looking pieces already up I ain't sure bout what that is or what that could be connected to

Oh yea thats something else that Bill said he would probally be adding a scoring board for the the peps in the pit side stands. Prob ain't going to be anything really complex but any thing is better than the nothing that is there now
