unread post ?

I havent completely figured out the new changes to the asphalt forums nad i might be doing something wrong but anyway, when i view the asphalt post or threads and then go back to my unread post they still appear as unread all other forums dont tdo this?? any help....... i would go back a couple times to see if it would finally update and not show in the unread column but all the ones on 9-9-07 still show up. thanks

That may be a question to let RJ handle. I will look around and see what I can find if RJ doesnt beat me to it.

What do you mean by Unread Column? I did not know there was such a thing?


Could give me a step by step as to what you are doing? I have to try and regenerate the issue..

I think he is talkin about unread post in the right top corner i had it happen me a few time in the last day or two. When u click unread post it give you what you haven't read when i went to read a few i clicked bk and the was still bein shown has unread.

OK in the top right hand corner of all the LRC pages it shows how many unread post there is since you last visit ok, well i click on it and view my unread post but after i view the post from the asphalt news area it doesnt update and still says they are unread even after viewing them several times, these post have stayed on my unread list for a couple days now still saying unread. here is the page i see when i click my unread post.... http://www.localracechat.com/forums/search.php?searchid=245442

The X Unread Posts since your last visit. in the welcome box does not have anything to do with the news section. Are you telling that when you click that link, it returns news articles? Because that should not even be possible as the news area is now separate from the forums..

I believe I just figured it out.. When I set up the news section I ported over ALL the news from the forums into the News area. What is happening is when you click the X Unread Posts since your last visit, link it is showing up a couple threads that you did not read before I ported them over to the News area. When you click the link to view that thread it takes you to the News area correct?

Those threads will most likely have this above them as well.
The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts.

If you will click on Quick Links up top and then select Mark All Forums Read, that should take care of it.

Heres what I think they are talking about Dwayne. It has happen to me over the years, way before the new section. Lets say when I sign on it says I have 4 unread post. Ok I click to those I read those four and in the mean time other people post new posts. So I go and click unread post and it pulls up 2 threads but says I have 3 unread posts. So I click and read those two, but it still says I have one unread post, So I click unread post and I get the messege that says no new posts at this time, even though it says I have one unread. Like I said it happens to me all the time. So after I click unread post and get the no new post messege, about two times. I just click mark forums read and it goes away. I never thought it was a big deal, but if this is what they are talking about it happens to me alot. But like I said its no a big deal, actually its nothing.
