I was thinking if we added a section where users could give reviews of races that they visited would anyone use it?

I'm not talking bash your track rip it a new ******* kind of review either. I am mainly talking about nicely written pros/cons kinda thing. You can actually give negative feedback on a track without being abusive.

Is six posts enough to do it? 14 members have read this thread and only 6 give input, and 6 of the 14 are Staff I guess I am going to have to start kicking the ones out that don't like to talk..:18lol:

I don't mind spending the time building it if people will use it. Costs would be $50.00 to purchase the software and then take me about 5hrs to implement it into the site.

I was under the assumption you meant a forum dedicated to this. Something simple. I think it could be a informative and useful tool for new fans and drivers not familiar with other tracks, in letting them decide if they wish to visit that particular track. However, I doubt the positives outweighs the negatives.

You probably know by now that I would use it. :icon_metal: But I'm not sure the expense you mentioned would be worth it. Is it something you can run in trial mode for a while to see how it would work?

No trial mode you by the s/w and then it's $25.00 a year to keep it updated to the latest versions and support if needed..

While searching around tonight I found a free one but it's no longer supported, that's the problem with free stuff hardly no support:wings_blink:

For my 2 cents, its just another forum that would and could end up with the wrong post in it. Then some of us will have another forum to monitor.
But on the other side it should cut back on the traffic in the Dirt Results forum.
Would there be any cut and paste in this forum or would be what you thought of, or how the race was run and results of that race?

No bill it would not be a Forum per say it would be a different section that would only have feedback from members that visited a track. Take the review that rbee posted earlier, next year you will have to dig deeeeeep to find it, maybe take a hr or so searching through his posts. With the Reviews area there would be a section for each track, so anyone that wanted to read reviews on a particular track would just go to that track an read all the reviews any member has wrote about it.. there would not be any simple 3 liners only decent ones..

The other option is that we could add a forum for only reviews only, same concept as th other forums just would not be separated by track, again dig deep to find it most users don't use the search function here to it's full potential either.

Here is a DEMO (http://www.vbadvanced.com/dynamics3/) of the s/w

It has all the same features too, you can rate the Reviews, subscribe to them, print them, etc..

I think it could be useful to the new members or for members who want to know about a track before they attend it.

That would also be a good way for memeber to get a picture on how the racing was that night.

i dont know if it would be worth the $,time and trouble to keep it up, we can use the Dirt Discussion forum for this.

There's functionality that makes a review section much more useful than simple posts that get buried in a forum. I think it's a unique feature that I haven't seen on any other racing site. The question I have is how many folks would take the time to write reviews of tracks they've visited? I know I would, both dirt and asphalt.

RJ- I'll send a PM. If you think it's worth the setup time, I'll see if I can contribute to the cost of the license.

thanks rbee but I can handle the costs, we have had a good month with donations from premium members such as you and a few others.. Thats what it's for to put back into the site.:check_flag2:
