Friday's Races

It was so good seeing the turnout both in the stands and in the pits on Friday. Man, what a turnout!! It was packed and everyone seemed to be having a good time. There were a few little bugs like the food and the delays, but I'm sure everyone will be patient while Gary, Alesia and the rest of the staff make improvements and adjustments.

The racing was great. Thanks to all the drivers who came out and put on a good show.

I hope the delays and problems with the food they had this past weekend doesn't discourage a lot of people. We left at 12:45 and they still only had 1 lap complete in the Late Model feature. I'm sure things will get better, but after hearing what a lot of people were saying as they left Friday, I doubt they will have nearly as large a crowd this week.

It was so many people there they ran out! But that's a good thing. I'm sure they will be better prepared since they have an idea of their fan support. By the way the hotdogs were good!

We did have a couple of glitches, underestimated the fans. We should have remembered "If you build it they will come!" The drivers are what made the night a winner. Did you see all the good close racin? I mean a motor won't win at Rolling Thunder by itself. You have to have a driver , and we had a pit jamed full of drivers Friday night. We have already made a couple of changes that will speed things up. I waited until we got all the racecars in the pit before starting the drivers meeting, and it was a hour late. ( my fault) We will start on time this week. And we should have line-ups posted a little better this week. But we do appreciate everyones understanding, the story I keep hearing is that for the first race we did pretty good, and with the racing as great as it was, it was worth the trip to Rolling Thunder Raceway.

Thanks and keep up the good work. My old SS finished 2nd in the heat race but had wrong tires on it. So it didn't run in the feature. But they are coming back this Friday and bringing the spec tires that are in the rules. Hate they didn't check the rules more closely. They thought they could run what they had the 1st 4 races. But they going to give that #20 a run for his money. Should be great racing again this Friday! Can't wait. Gary
