First and formost remember this..........I am only human.......
As a sports official it happens more often than not, you catch the retalliation, not the initial foul.
Super stock 4's............On lap one when the D2 was spinning everyone checked up except for the 12, I believe that he saw the 00 infront of him and decided not to lift. I warned him under the yellow, and knowing William, I beileve that was the end of it.
The Second caution was for the D2 AGAIN spinning in trun 4....... I held the yellow for a few seconds, thinking he was going to get turned back around, I was watching the D2 the entire time. He did not restart, so I threw the yellow. ( Brett Clary......Just a FYI for you the yellow was for the D2 not the 5)
Being I was watching the D2 to see if he was going to be able to get going I did not see what happend in turn 1 & 2 between the 5 and 00.
After I threw the yellow, I looked to 1 & 2 and saw the five turned to the infield. Next thing you know he shoots across the grass and runs into the side of the 00.
Then and There no doubt in mind the 5 is done for the night. When I threw the Black flag for the 5, I was told that if I Black flagged the 5 the 00 would have to be black flagged also as he spun the 5 intentionally under the yellow. I did not see this happen so I had to place my trust in the other track official..... I asked him several times, and this is what he saw and believed.
I will say this, Gary did not know who was in the 5 until after I spoke with him on the track. History being what it is, Gary does not usually run anybody dirty. Thats all I have to say about that.
Now as far as the sportsman race............ I was turned around talking to the tower, after the yellow came out for the 99. I did not see what happend on the back stretch between the 99 and 39, but I did see the 39 hit the 99. I was just about to throw the Black for the 39, when radio traffic once again said if I black flag the 39 I need to throw it for the 99 also.
After consulting all of the track officials and talking to DY, who proclaimed that he was having break problems, and that he was pumping the breaks, and the 99 ran into him, but also when he was trying to catch back up to the 99 and ran into him, he claimed that his breaks did not work........(take it for what it is worth) I spoke to Kelly via phone today and he said that he was going to rub Dy and show his dissapproval for spinning him, but Dy did slam on the breaks and he hit him hard instead of just rubbing him.
So after some reasoning with the other track officials I decided to let them both slide, giving DY the benefit of the doubt that his brake issue was for real,........more convincing I gave him 1 lap to check his brakes between the ministock and super stock race.
Puresotcks.................I saw the 82 and 16 bumping on a restart........along with several others.......If someone slams on thier brakes infront of someone, I have a hard time faulting the guy behind him.
As far as what happend to the 07 that was just a bad break, it happend under green. Just wrong time at the wrong place. I dont think we can balme what happend to him, on anyone or anything.
Superstreet.........Hate that Dan's motor let go, not sure why the 3 did not let go of the 11 and spun him on the first lap or two, but I guess cream rises to the top and Buddy ended up winning.
Modifieds...........Hate the 1 did not make the start........Not sure why the 22 stopped on the track to bring out the yellow, then kept going, causing the 1 to go to the rear. To bad he could not get back on the lead lap and we could have had a race for 1st between the 1 and 32.
On a up note............. Good race for the ministocks......Brian Thiede drove a very clean race, and could have done the wrong thing at any time........
Late Models.........Wow after Blackburn passed Tucker he checked out. Good racing, hate to see the 91 get tied up in that early wreck.
I do promise one thing............I will not turn around anymore under yellow and talk to the tower, and if there is ANY INTENTIONAL CONTACT UNDER CAUTION, the driver will be BLACK FLAGGED and DQ with no money or points.
Well I hope that everybody gets thier cars back together and come back after having a week off.
