I think that this week was one of the best run races in pure stocks this week. Always remember guys keep you head, and the best always rise to the top.
I also think that Buddy Sr. could have taken Dan out anytime, but did not.......... I think Buddy gained a little bit of respect from a lot of people. It was good to see Dan get that win.
Stock 4's , Super Stock 4's, Sportsman, & Bombers......These four classes the guys that are winning have really done thier homework. Kelly made some very good inside-out moves with the car, one of the best races he drove all year coming from the back.
Mod 4's.....zzzzzzzzzzzz You guys need to get more cars to the track, this is one of the best classes when there is 12-15 cars........Congrats Justin.
Late Modles.........Congrats to Booper, hated to see Ray break, and Kent, Chigger, Derrik, and Ray Davis get caught up in wrecks....... How aboug Danny Hudson.......Looked like his car just SHUT OFF coming out of 3.....tough luck for him. I was a little dissapointed in the no show of some of the FMS drivers that wanted the weight change.
Sometimes I think if some drivers know who is coming to race, it makes them think twice about coming.
Well see everyone saturday.:icon_blahblah::icon_blahblah::icon_blahb lah:

Ya know the more I read this and think about it, I have been screaming this for the last 3 years. I get called a basher, a pot stirrer and sometimes people come up with so bogus stats to call me a lire. They say the purse is to top heavy, the track is to narrow, the track tears apart, the list goes on an on.
Well I say were are all those excuses at this year? The track sat night was probly one of the widest you will ever see anywere, the track was in good shape and the purse was copied and pastied from other tracks web site!!
So all those lame excuses are out the window, so they come up with another "The Weight rule, so they change the weight rule and so now its the same as every other track around.
SO WHATS THE EXCUSE FOR SITTING AT HOME THIS WEEKEND WATCHING THE GRASS GROW????????????

I'm going to play devil's advocate and probably take some heat for it, but hey, newbies get to do that.
I'm guessing that a lot of these drivers do this as a hobby because they love the sport. I've heard "there's no money in racin'" a million times it seems so I'm assuming that the majority of these drivers aren't in it for the money. That said, I'm assuming that the majority of the drivers out there pick a "local" track that they like (for whatever reason), and spend most of their time on that track. When that track is closed or not running their class, they enjoy the break. Maybe in some cases they prefer tracks that don't run their class every weekend? They might need that time to spend with their family or to take care of personal business. Or, maybe, they just want to sit in their backyard with a cold brew and watch their grass grow. I don't see the point in giving them a hard time. Maybe it's just easier for them to come up with some kind of excuse to get people off their back? Maybe they'd rather not tell you the real reason they don't want to race on another track?

All those are legitimate points for I hate this word support or other divisions. Yes there are a lot of low budget teams in the other classes that can only afford to run one track and not every weekend. There's nothing wrong with that, those guys are what makes a show complete and worth going to see.
I am talking about the SlM Teams that got the 100,000 dollar haulers and the 50,000 plus race cars. The ones who think and there fans think they are the baddest boys on the planet and their home tracks just loaded with competition.
ONCE AGAIN NO EXCUSES DONT SING IT BRING IT
You know Charlies Quote hit the nail on the head. A pre drivers list is great to put fans in the stands. But it also keeps a lot of cars away and it would seem that the competition at Clary's seems to do that every week in EVERY class!!!!!!!!!!

i blew my comp up in the middle of that last post but ill just finish it .. KAHUNAS to say i dont like you , dont wanta race with you , hate your track not look at you and smile and say or cry bout a weight rule or not enuff money .. just be truthful and not act like a child , personally i dont care who comes we are allways gonna race and have more fun than any track in the world , so let um watch grass grow go off with fam what ever they want but dont cry or make x cuses .. and when yall get ready to come race we have tires, fuel , food and i will personally give you a brew
I'd be interested to know who, out of the field of "regulars" in the SLM class at Clary's, will be running and where they will be running when Clary's is closed on August 25th.
JH & Rocket- don't get me wrong- I'm not arguing with you. Just looking at it from a different perspective. The perspective of "not knowing a damn thing" because I'm a newb. :hide_390:

I believe I can say for sure Tucker will race somewhere. I also know that the 89 until a cant turn down offer to go to MB they were going to Carolina Speedway. The 8 an the 1d also ran at the colossal. Johny Stovall has even ran 311 some this year when they had a higher paying race. Damon Kokte has raced at FMS a few times in the last year. Chris Marshall has already raced at different tracks this year. If CLR let a SLM run Iam sure some of our guys would race there on off nights. Also you need to remember most of the SLM's at clary's would Qualify as lower budget teams, open trailers and alot of steal blocks and they still kick but most of the time. Iam not arguing I like discussions and sometimes debates!

Any driver that looks at who's is coming to a particular track has already settle on second place. The better the competition the harder a driver will drive to beat his competitor or he doesn't belong behind the wheel

Is Tucker a "regular" at Clary's? Too soon to tell?
The other drivers you mentioned:
Mason Price - 13 out of 15 races
Chris Marshall - 11 out of 15 races
Johnny Stovall - 9 out of 15 - and based on what you say, he went after a higher paying purse when he ventured away from Clary's
That's the cutoff for what I would consider to be a "regular" at Clary's.
Damon Kokte - only 5 of 15 races
Danny Hudson - only 5 of 15 races
So, based on what you're saying, I should fully expect to see Mason, Chris, and Johny, as well as Kent Wright (who based on stats is also a regular) running somewhere on August 25th. I guess we'll see what happens.

Yes Tucker is a regular at Clary's. Damon and Danny both have had car trouble all year. Mason will be at the beach. The rest I cant speak for em. But anyone will tell you they ain't scared and have raced all over before. You have some impressive stats there, I will give you credit for that. But your stats really don't sway this argument. BECAUSE WE DONT TAKE EVERY OTHER WEEK OFF
I have never said anyone should leave there home track to race somewhere else. We have some cars that have left and went to race at a higher paying event or a series event. You cant blame em for that at all. All Im saying there are a lot of tracks that don't run but every so often and those guys rather stay home than race

Mason Price drives the #8 and he will be in Myrtle Beach......Danny Hudson may be there too.......along with JC Clary #89
Damon has had issues and is trying to get his back, but he is a clary's regular......and has run at WCS, FMS, and Lowe's in the past
I can't say about Kent cause i haven't talked to him about it, but I nkow Lisa said they were going to the beach also and it may be that week, I'll check and see......but I can tell you Kent is not scared to travel nor is he scared to say if his funds are the reason he cannot travel......
Gotta wait and see what happens with Stovall's new ride.......

Yes Tucker is a regular at Clary's.
I can't tell for sure, since FMS doesn't show complete historical results, but it looks like he could have run as many times at FMS as he has Clary's this year.
Damon and Danny both have had car trouble all year. Mason will be at the beach. The rest I cant speak for em. But anyone will tell you they ain't scared and have raced all over before. You have some impressive stats there, I will give you credit for that. But your stats really don't sway this argument. BECAUSE WE DONT TAKE EVERY OTHER WEEK OFF
You're mischaracterizing my position. I'm in no way implying that any driver is scared of anything. I'm only saying that it's most likely that other track's regulars are not all heading to Clary's or any other track on "off" nights because of reasons *other* than being scared. Just like we're seeing that many local Clary's drivers are headed to the beach on Aug 25th. Not a thing in the world wrong with that.
I have never said anyone should leave there home track to race somewhere else. We have some cars that have left and went to race at a higher paying event or a series event. You cant blame em for that at all. All Im saying there are a lot of tracks that don't run but every so often and those guys rather stay home than race
Right, you aren't asking them to leave their track when their class is running, you're asking them to come to Clary's when their track is off. I'm hearing that some have been asked directly and made excuses as to why they wouldn't come. Who are they? Call them out! For the others, if they would rather stay home on off nights, that's what those guys *want* to do. I guess I'm missing the point but I don't see anything wrong with that.
hey jh i dont hahahahahhahahahha lol !!!!!!! is it 5 o klok som wurr i wanta brew
Ah man, see JH? I knew I would take some heat. :teu42:
Folks- I wasn't calling any driver or group of drivers out. That's was the *point* of my having a bit of fun with JH. I was playing devil's advocate in *defense* of drivers that might simply want to do something other than race when their preferred track is off.
I appreciate *all* drivers that have it in them to show up at *any* track on *any* night. Plain and simple. If some want to chase money, chase the money. If some want to travel all over to race on different tracks, that's awesome. If some stay put on their preferred tracks, that's fine with me. I'm sure the fans in those stands appreciate them being there. I know I sure as hell do regardless of what track I'm visiting- and I'm visiting a track almost every week, going by myself, driving no less than 2 hours each time to enjoy it.

better watch how you use all that "data"! MOST of the time there are variables behind that data that are not being considered.
bricktesters' data last week showed that the 2 would be taking home the brick - :banghead: It looked like good data....
also rebee, you have to account for rays off time this year and where he may have raced during that time to determine where his "home" track would have been thus far.... or ask him where his home track is..

Again, what I'm saying is not "driver-centric". Sorry if it appears that way. It looked to me like general accusations were being made. I disputed those generalizations with a little bit of data in order to support my own generalization. The only way I know how to support an argument is by having facts. Just keep in mind that I'm completely new to this sport and I don't know a single driver personally. Consider this part of the learning process. :52th:
I just fail to understand why such a big deal is being made because "some drivers" (who are they?) don't come up to Clary's on the nights they're not running at their preferred track. Who cares??? If they are making excuses not to come, stop asking them and get on with things.

RBEE.....
The one issue I think about is, that Clary's is the only Dirt Track that run's the Supers on Saturday Nights Weekly in Eastern North Carolina.
If the Supers do no support a track that is willing to run them weekly, they may not have an option of choice in the future.
When the drivers approached, tell you that if the track would change this rule or change how many laps etc....and they would come, well the track listens and make the changes, you would expect for them to be men of thier word. I do know that some go on vacation and sometimes cars may be broke, but not EVERYONE of them.

I see a triangle here- track, driver, and fan. I see the track on the bottom, bearing the weight of both drivers and fans. I believe the track has the most difficult job. I understand the desire to have high car counts, because the assumption I guess is that it's more exciting for the fans (although I don't particularly care, as long as the race is exciting) and it brings in a little more money for the track.
However, I'm telling you as a fan, and a new one at that, that I firmly believe that rants by track officials on a public forum such as this can only be seen as a positive thing by die-hards (driver and fan) of that particular track. I believe that it's seen negatively by everyone else- the very folks that you want to attract to the track. I certainly see it in a negative light. It comes off sounding like a bunch of bravado and chest-pounding.
I agree that if specific drivers have led a track on by breaking their promises, then track officials have every right to be upset with those individuals. I just completely disagree with the particular way it's being handled in public here on this forum.
Just my 2 cents as a new fan. Take it or leave it.
