I've got some friends who live in Mt. Airy/Pinnacle and love dirt track racing. On the map it looks like the track is a couple of miles from their house. They must be in heaven ... I know they used to go to 311 a lot but they could probably walk to this track. I've been outta touch for a little while, but maybe its time to give them a call and catch up! Hey, I gotta know if you can see Pilot Mountain from the track (that is one crazy looking mountain)!

No, it's about 30 miles North of Pinnacle so Pilot Mountain cannot be seen, but If I'm not mistaken the blue ridge mountains can probably be seen.

And yes... Pilot Mountain is a little odd looking, BUT I love it :o) That's why I live beside it... so I can see it everyday! :o)

Its gonna be great to have a Friday Night track in the area.....I can't wait.......Can someone from RTR maybe put some directions on their website......When you click on Directions it just brings up a map on my end......It might make it alot easier if there were some easy to understand directions from like 220 or other roads or areas like Roanoke, Rocky Mount, Martinsville etc.....Thanks for the pics Tommy and keep up the great work RTR crew !!!!

When I used Map Quest to get directions it had me driving on the Blue Ridge Parkway alot and that would be wayyyyyyy slow....lol.......there has got to be an easier way to get there via 220 to 58 of route 40 from Ferrum to Stuart......if anyone has any ideas please let me know....Thanks !!!!

Just found Poorboy44's directions......thought I'd copy and paste them here:

Re: directions - 01-19-2007, 06:01 PM

Hey Big Wheel you would need to come down 220 to Martinsville bypass get on Hwy 58 towards Stuart. When you go by the Wal-Mart in Stuart go by the hospital at the top of the hill take the next left into town. When you come to the stop light turn left on rt 8 southfollow signs for rt 8 south out of town. Go about 5 miles out of town and turn right on Hwy 103. Follow for about 7 or 8 miles into a 45 MPH speed zone in Claudville. Take 1st right on Hwy 104 beside 103 sure stop store. Follow for 6 miles and you will come to Blue Ridge Elementary School. Turn right on Friends Mission rd just past school. 1 1/2 miles track is on the left behind a white house with a green roof. See you there thanks for the interest.

Thanks Poorboy44 !!!!!

Hey guys and ladies,

Sorry for not answering questions, been to the beach with the youngun before school starts. Track is behind Blue Ridge Elementary School in Ararat, Va.
From Stuart ,Va. , go south on route 8 for about 3 miles turn right on highway 103. Go on 103 for about 8 or 9 miles, turn right on 773 and go 7 miles, turn right on Friends Mission Road (just past school) and infront of the fire dept.

Wayne

773 is the road Poorboy44 called 104. (It is called 104 on the other end in N.C.) but on this end it is 773.
