I wanted to take some time to address the concerns I have heard and read about the Bureau County Speedway Website. I hope the people who read this will not take offense or take it as being sarcastic in anyway, as it is not intended to be offensive or sarcastic.

Neither I nor any other Board Member/Official of the track have access to update the site. I send all the information, changes, updates, announcements to the webmaster via email as soon as I know of them. I do let him know where I would like announcements placed and if they need to be stressed/eyecatching. At times there are mis-placements and mis-wording, you may have to scroll down to the bottom of the home page to see more info etc. I do check the site quite often after sending information to him, to be sure that it is correct.

The website is maintained by a person in Peoria, who updates it as soon as he can, I do send him the info prior to any statements made on any forums, in the hopes that he gets it updated in time to have the same information I am posting. Sometimes he does not get to it in time, unfortunatley I have no control over that, I have asked several times to be able to have access to the site to update it myself and have been denied access, and to a point; I can understand him not wanting to give access to others.

I am not saying that the webmaster is slacking, and not trying to place blame on him, I just want everyone to understand this. Maybe eventually he will allow access, maybe we will end up doing it ourselves with a complete new site. Only time will tell that.

In the mean time, I can only suggest that you check this forum for announcements. "Official announcements" that I make for the track are posted here on Local Race Chat.

I understand that some people seem to think that this (Local Race Chat) is a: little unknown forum that no one knows about or cares about. All I can say to that is: if these people would sign up and post here, it may not be such a little place. (That is how forums grow. . . by people signing up and posting.)

It is my (personal) opinion that Local Race Chat has more integrity and upkeep on their board than the "other board". Keep in mind that the other board was once a little unknown forum as well.

Thank you all for your time,
Gena

Thanks for the kind words and we appreciate your support here as well. If you ever do decide to do the way of a site that you can fully manage on your own and allow only the ones that you want to, to edit it and add new content let me know.. I Built Clary's one this year.. You can see it at Clary's Speedway - Home (http://www.clarysspeedway.com/) it's fully maintained by the track.. I do help them when needed and provide all the training to run it.. It can be edited from any computer no software needed. Of course I maintin others as well..

One misconception I think most people have is, when they see "Local" race chat, they seem to think it's concentrated on one small area of North Carolina. This is NOT the case. On behalf of the rest of the staff here, we welcome Bureau County Speedway just the same as we do with the local tracks down here. No track is less or more important than the other. I really hope fans and drivers of Bureau County Speedway will come here and feel welcomed.

Hey 34racrs_wife,
Not only am i a very talented Hornet driver but i am also a Website designer. I would be glad to help out the Bureau in any way I can.

I will get working on a website right now and if you like what I come up with then we can get moved to a place where you can do everything you need easily. I have a webserver that I rent that i could host the site on if need as well.

Ok guys, thank you for your offers. The new site has already been designed (actually a few have been designed), and this will all need to go thru the board before I can proceed. I will update everyone on this as soon as I know more.
