quote from press release:::Jamaica, VA - Shane Clanton finally got a win at Virginia Motor Speedway, this one a thriller over Darrell Lanigan. The race included six lead changes with the final lead change coming on the white flag with Clanton retaking the lead and the victory in teh Summer Sizzler 50 presented by Thurston Spring Service, Inc

1st shane didnt take the lead on the last lap, it was 2 laps to go, and was it just me or did anybody else see the lap traffic that didnt get flagged for 2 laps that "COST" Darrell Lanigan the win???
Someone at the track last night said it didnt matter he saw the cars,Yes maybe , Darrel did see the cars in front, and he was dropping low in turns 3 and 4 which was where the lap traffic was, but maybe , just maybe he was expecting the officials to do their jobs and throw the flag. The man did one heck of a job driving, moved up from 8th to 1st, Darrel , heck of a job last night!!! Keep it up!!!!

i was wondering that last night. they didnt throw the move over flag one time last night. they might not use it in the WoO. the track was a little more racey since the last time i went to it. at one point they were 5 wide coming out of 2. that was awesome.

my only thing is this. everytime i go there it gets later and later. the latest i have ever been out of clary, other than the rain delay night, was about 11:45. they didnt race the 1st feature until 11:35. clarys runs 7 classes and they only ran 4. what was the problem?

we where thinking the same?? we got there late and thought we might have missed the heat races, but they just had got started!!
And in think they had the flag glued down, they didnt mind the black flag though in the open wheel!!!,,lol.. we thought they might not have any cars left to run!!!!

With the raceceiver being used more and more some series do not use the lap flag. Also, when and if it is used it does not mean that you move over. It means that the leaders are come and hold your line so the leaders can pick a line to get around the slower cars. Changing the line of a slower car can do more harm then good.

This subject has been been hashed out many many times on here. Different tracks different rules also apply to this.

On raceceiver they normally tell the lap track top hold their line and their speed. The lap drivers are normally told that the leaders are coming up behind them, the lap flag ain't used much for this reason. Even thou the fans don't know that the driver knows he's about to get lapped, that driver most likly knows.
