Hey guys and ladies,

Power Company finally arrived, Rolling Thunder Raceway was " Lit Up " last night. A few more lights will be added in the next couple of days and the mobile home will be moved by the first of the week. With the terraced seating from turn four to turn one, and the ability to see the whole racetrack , and the scorers building sitting half way up the hillside. We have had two different grandstand deals fall apart, and haven't yet been able to locate any major sets of grandstands. We're still looking. We should have enough grandstands to seat a few hundred people but what do you all think about bringing lawn chairs to sit on the grass terraces also ? I personally take my chair to every race I attend and prefer it to bleachers.

Does anyone ever sit down at a racetrack anyway? Or is it all the same people who stalk me all over the country so they can stand on their seat in front of me?:smoke:

Thanks for the replys guys, That's what I been passing along. LCRFORD I'll be sure to post on here , and the track site will have info. about practice. Practice will probably be on a Friday night because we don't want to interfere with other tracks or drivers plans. Hey Cheezy, I still owe you a "I'm sorry!" when I see you. ...LOL.....doofus, I hope you're right Gary and Alisia have put a lot of effort and money in a short time. I hope we together can make it worth it. Hey jh, be sure to say howdy if you come up. Looking like end of July or first of August, and we will run on up into Fall.

Hey BIGKID, You don't owe me BUCKO. Thanks to you and Andy for thinking about me if you know what I mean. When yall get ready give me a date and I will make an announcement just for YOU. I will be there if possible opening night. Glad it's getting closer for the Nester's too. You know there has been some sleepless nights around that house. LOL. They probably wished they could have bought a track already built.

can't wait to get up there and watch some racing not seen much this season glad to have a dirt track close again. sure hope they advertise the tracks grand opening in the elkin area still a lot of dirt fans left down here and no where to go since they paved friendship and as far as lawn chairs fine with.

Yea DirtyLarry , lot of Elkin people have been by to look at the track. Several old Friendship dirt guys are suppose to try to get cars ready. Going to try to get the word out every which way..lol...

i was at FMR lastnight and heard that rolling thunder was gonna have first practice at the end of the month...is there any truth to this?

Keep watching here, will know more this Saturday. We haven't announced a certain date yet.

He had a place fixed over in turn 1 and 2 for handicapped not sure what plans are for the vehicle parking something will be fixed to accomodate.
