What is the real problem here? I find it hard to believe the car count is so low and nobody is attending just because the track runs Sat. not Fri. Is French a butthole? Hotdogs no good? To high? All hear is the track is awesome.......maybe its the engine seal deal......payout? Admission? I cant blame the man for running once a month if nobody gonna show up. Something is keeping the cars away and it aint Fridays. Never been to Wythe but I hear its packed ever Sat. night. 311 pretty much packed on super shows and Sat. night. What seems to be the problem with FMR? Me personally would be hard to make it Fri. but thats just me but guess what if I get the car ready I may just make a few laps up there and see whats what. I guess I gotta get the engine sealed to, already got a head bolt drilled out.

The Problem Is That The Track Has Been Run By Alot Of People In The Last Few Years. There Has Been Alot Of Rule Changes Each Time. Not Everybody Can Afford To Fix A New Car Every Year. Back To The Fact That Young Engine Supples All The Big Dog With Hot Engines. MY Opinion Is That His Engines Are That Greatest!! All Of His Engines Pass Tech At FMR. Alot Of The Cars That Run Out There Have Alot To Do With Young Engines. I Have A Super Street That Has Pass Tech And Race There, I Am Willing To Sell It With No Motor And Maybe That Will Get Your Car Count Up.

I think the real problem started when french left the rule writing up to the drivers at those meetings and he had a select few who for some reason wanted to sabotage him from the beginning and convinced him to change this rule and that, but then they don't want to race there. The rules from the past were fine up until then. that's what happens when you leave the rules to the drivers huh? jmo

I think the rules were already set before he had the meetings. Seemed like he said no to almost everything that people were generally wanting.
As far as the car count, the only class that you don't have to have dirt tires to keep up is U-car. If there were an all-american class, or dirt dobbers like there used to be, more people would probably run. I just can't see someone spending all that money for a set of tires to win 100 bucks.

hey Smurf,
are you and your brother still racing?
why don't you come up this weekend and race at FMR/OLR...

It seems this site has favorites and only certain people are allowed to come on here and voice their opinions. Some people on here can come on here and run their mouth but if somebody comes on here in defense the discussion gets closed or the posts are removed. Mr. Admininstrator..I am sure you will remove my post AGAIN and probably kick me off this forum, but just to let you know that it's pretty sad that you are doing this. Dirtslider says whatever he wants and there has even been a message or two on here with bad language, but I come on here and because I defend the "track with pavement" you remove my messages. I am a dirt fan and never came on here once and bad mouthed dirt racing, only defended "the place with pavement" but dirtslider does whatever, must be a close friend or something. Do what you fell necessary, just thought I would let you know that this forum is totally unfair!

:saiyan: It's because this is a dirt track forum, duh. We like pavement to get to the dirt tracks though. Pavement is just alot slower than dirt and we like to go fast, sorry.

nobody is bothering you harley lady, we let that die a few days ago but you seem to have a fettish for not letting things go and just want to keep your pavement views in the spotlight....your private messages don't work so you can stop sending them to me, i don't care what you think,,,

Fireball...what are the times around the track down there, what are the cars turning...???
Also, dirtslider, I am not "harley lady" and have not sent you ANY private messages, don't want to talk to you, just wanted to know what they problem is on here with everybody!!
I am not the one who started the discussion about pavement tracks, someone else did and I defended it, but if you want to talk sensible conversations about dirt we can!

We had Mike Young turning it in his Late Model at 16.576, that's probably faster than you are used to running in a mini-stock, but I think it was a pretty good time.

How many cars are expected to be there Sat. night and do you know of any possible future schedule changes, such as more racing down there??

Couldn't say, but mine will be there and I'm gonna run my late model with the crate guys, to get the setup for hopefully a August 25 late model race if Doc can get it worked out for us. French has said if he had good car counts he could afford to race weekly, but with the few that are showing up right now there's no way financialy to do that.

What's going on down there....is he not getting cars/crowd or both, do you think the Sat. night thing is hurting him?? I know I went to 311 last Sat. and it was really awesome, I love dirt late models!! Good luck to you this weekend!

French said on the TV show he does that he hasn't decided the purse for that race yet, but he has said all along that he will support a class that supports the track and I think the U-Cars have done that very well. He don't want to advertise a BIG purse and have 5 or 6 cars show up, so I guess everyone will find out in the drivers meeting.
driver10
07-13-2007, 11:16 PM
I totally agree with his feelings on that but I disagree that you can't really advertise a race and mislead people and if only 5 or 6 cars show up there not be a big purse. It almost reminds of Whitey Taylor stuff, but I guess it's his track and that' my opinion. I just don't know how that will work for him.

No disrespect to my ole buddy Mike.....and in saying what i'm about to say is just in defense of your first quote(fireball) but I expect there will be some cars turning in the upper 12 second to the lower 13 second range on a nearby pavement track which is also 3/8 of a mile.....I know as this being a public forum we do not all have to agree....but we should be respectful to each other.......and as I have stated before if we were still racing dirt on Friday nights we would all be getting home about now chatting about an exciting night of dirt racing......I know someone made the comment the other day who had talked to French about the reason he didn't want to run Friday nights because he wouldn't have the help to get the track ready......but for years and years and years the track was ready or close to it anyway on Friday nights......and as a dirt racing fan I'd like to Thank Lonnie Tatum who offered to put up the 800.00 for a late model race this weekend.

And Mike has one of the slower cars ( no disrespect) so what could the Doc, and east and Blackburn turn on the new surface and banking if the slower cars are turning that? Yeah, makes me eager to find out too.

First of all, I went weeks without deleting or closing posts/threads in this forum, then it all went crazy.. You or no one else will use my site to do nothing but fill it with trash talk and bashing track owners or other members. Everyone here that has had negative comments about FMR has said them and repeated them over and over.. Yes everyone is entitled to there opinion but they don't have to keep on and on about it, I have better things to do with my time thatn trying to babysit a bunch of grown men and women.. Anyone can state their opnion about something without demeaning the person or persons that you think are at fault because everything has not or is not going exactly the way you want it too..

This is not a completely 100% dirt forum.. Have you not seen the Asphalt News/Results? (http://www.localracechat.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=161) I have tried to get more asphalt tracks and fans involved in our site but most of the tracks are to snobby got their nose up in the air and their head up their ass, sorry that's the experience I have had.. We use to have a FCS forum here when they were first getting their new site online then after a bit everyone moved ofer to the racers lounge, Hell FCS even removed our link without any explanation, so once I saw this I stripped the forum and kindly removed their link too.. Hey if they don't want exposure from over 40,000 visitors then so be it I tried.
:saiyan: It's because this is a dirt track forum, duh.
Not yet it's not, I am going to keep trying but there are more dirt fans here and it's only because they are the ones that have joined together to bring more members. All the Asphalt tracks or most of them are hanging out at R A C E R A P, why I'll never know but more power to em. like before if they want to pay to use it them go ahead, LRC is free to use and always will be..

NOTE: My post is not directed to anyone individual, I am talkin about the whole FMR - FCS fiasco in general.

I totally agree with what you have said...why FCS removed their stuff, I don't have the answer. I go up there on Sat. nights, love the racing, I was only coming on here and defending track drivers, I never bashed anyone on here and my posts were removed. Dirtslider has come on here and bashed nearly everyone from here to NC at times. I love FMR, think it's a great track, went there nearly every Friday night last year, never came on here said anything about the track or French. I only suggested he should race on Fridays and that seemed to upset Dirtslider, so he started running his mouth to ME! I think there is good and bad in every race track and what is the saying you can't make all the people happy all the time?? FCS has some issues as well, I will not discuss since this is a dirt track forum, which have been told about a zillion times over and over. I don't remember who it was, but if you look back on the posts in the past several weeks, someone on this forum referred to the drivers at FCS as being "pussies" and "pretty boys" which is what started the whole thing on here with that and all I did was come on here and defend those drivers. I never bashed FMR or any driver down there. So with that said, now you know what was going on.
